Hey guys!
I used to dabble in some painting here and there with Forza 3 and a bit on Forza 4. I would never say I was good, nor would I say I improved much as I just did simple designs, however I’ve just entered a racing ladder my friend runs so I thought “sod it, time to focus on painting a really nice car for people to see when I fly past them.”
My tuning abilities are fine, they always have been since Forza 2 due to me mainly being a drifter and understanding cars, the way certain tuning and tweaks change the way it drives heavily because of my dad being a petrol head.
So onto painting then e’yy? Right now I’ve got a beautifully tuned Skyline R34 GTR I’m wanting to paint, I’m not looking for it to be extremely complex just a nice looking racing livery. Right now I’m working on the base paint job figuring out what sort of Body Vinyl I’m after, what I feel I’m gunna struggle with is making a font for my gamertag that I’ll be putting on the side as well as a custom main sponsor. I’ve tried a few things but I can’t seem to get the nack of it and I feel it’ll drag my paint job down, I’ll upload pictures shortly for opinions and criticism however in the mean time feel free to throw as many tips or tricks you know for making custom logos and creating a nice font for a gamertag placed on the side.
I’m not one to look for help or try and get others to put in a lot of input especially when it came to tuning my cars, so at the moment I’ve kinda put myself out there and welcoming all hate or love that comes my way. So feel free to post what you think will help improve my abilities.

Best will be if you show what you have so far and there’s plenty skilled painters around that will be willing to help you.
In the meantime have look at Hieronymous stickied thread at the top for some guidelines etc.

PS Just be carefull, painting can get addictive and cause marital harm. LOL.

I am not a great livery editor kind of person but I have just finished work on a Ken Block style livery for my Impreza WRX STI which I decided to make because I am good at finding faults in other peoples liveries and I like the sense of accomplishment when I’m finished. I have always preferred to make replica liveries myself because I am not great at imagining stuff that would look good. I don’t really have any tips other than to use google images a lot for inspiration, to experiment with all of the decal shapes and to start off with simple designs.
I’ve got a few competitive games I’ve had to play today and in around an hour. I’ll be hoping to upload the pictures of the car later tonight as I still didn’t finish the body vinyl I’m trying to make.
Also could you suggest the easiest way to upload photos to my posts when I do it later?

I took a capture from the menu in game, saved and uploaded it to the game. Next I clicked the add photo button at the top of the comment box in the forum and pasted the URL of the picture from the community gallery on forzamotorsport.com.

So, where are you planning on posting these captures?
Cant see too much of the Block livery, but it looks good from what I can see.
Artistic shots are great but showcase the design more.

The livery doesn’t look bad from the last picture, but if you want to showcase the design I would suggest adding a few close up shots. What I do is a close up of the side, rear, front and/or any other part of the design you want to showcase, everything from metallic/chrome parts to crucial elements that brings the design together. But it’s not a bad start, just keep it up

Tom… we are trying to help you, give advice… so if you want to show us your designs … show us your designs…
