New Leagues: B600 Sim (Rally Heroes) | S800 Ghosts (Global Touring) | Spec: 2-Eleven

Anybody have any tips for tuning the Lotus so it’s not so twitchy? I’ve fiddled with the dampers and brought the rear spring rate down about 10 lbs/in, and while that’s taken the edge off a bit I’d like to get the rear of the car to break away more smoothly. I’ve thought about adding more angle to the rear wing, but that doesn’t help at low speeds.

I was under the impression that tunes weren’t allowed in stock classes. Even if its tuning with the stock parts.

Correct. Stock = as bought, no upgrades and no tuning. System pics it up just in case anyone forgets not to tune.

PS. The Lotus is twitchy indeed, but throttle control (feathering) helps a lot with that. Perhaps that’s why Triton chose it.

That’s fine. Although it would have been nice to see that specified somewhere before I wasted time working with the car, as that’s not what “stock” typically means when it comes to actual racing classes. Stock/Spec classes always allow for adjustments to the parts that are allowed to be on the car.

I’ll just not run in this league. The AWD league is more appealing to me anyway.

You are mistaking this game for sim…

Words mean things. It doesn’t matter if this is a pure sim or not, if you’re going to redefine the word “stock” in a game with “Motorsports” in the title it needs to be clear.

That’s unfortunate.

Okay so we had an AWD league last week and a Rally Day Heroes AWD this week - so much for variety. I think at least one league per week should cater to as many people as possible. The spec leagues are a good idea and I like the idea of using the “Stories Of Motorsport” I also feel that limiting sim/ghost to certain divisions is good too ( I still haven’t changed my mind though, I think ghost racing is a waste in leagues).
Having done some lobby racing this week and finding that they are as full of wreckers and bad sports as ever despite some good efforts by Turn10 to make improvements I was looking forward to a decent league this week - I can only say I’ve been disappointed again

It’s not restricted to AWD. I tuned a 99 Lancer that I swapped to RWD and raced with today - I’m not a huge AWD fan except in the rain. The endurance league is very welcome and the DNF rate is still pretty low. A couple races for me went south early on and I had to pit and was still able to finish the race. There were a couple of sketchy wreckers, but for the most part it was the most talkative lobby I’ve been in - chat problems and all - to setup safe passes, etc. I was pretty surprised to find out that the leagues have been shuffled and a lot of players I’ve been in Professional league with are also now in Elite - so a handful of us were already familiar / friendly with one another.

Personally, I liked the Ghost Leagues. Granted it’s just hot lapping, but live with other players was a good way to find new racing lines that you might not find in Rivals. C class ghost league a few weeks ago was really helpful in that regard to keep up speed through the turns. But I can see why someone wouldn’t be a fan.

Make a rear wheel or front wheel drive tune of a car you like and give it a go. The 2014 VW R isn’t a bad choice for rear wheel drive. Just be ready for the tire spin coming out of corners.

Definately doing the Spec league this week. Found the Lotus a bit twitchy when I did some practice earlier on to find the sweet spot on throttle control and gear selection. Love this car.

I did some practice earlier, in the stock Lotus and it’s not that bad once you get used to its handling. I’m just about to start racing it now, hopefully it’s clean and fun.

Yeah, I grew to enjoy the ghost league as well. It’s a nice place to go when you’re feeling frustrated from something that happened in the contact league.

The very first AWD run I had ended poorly. I started in the back, which was good, but there was an incident with a lot of smoke resulting in a head on collision with a car I didn’t see until the red damage indicators start rolling in. Oh well…

First impressions of the spec league are that I’ve had some really enjoyable racing. Here’s the track rotation for the first 5 hours, not sure how many more till it starts over but there’s over 30 listed.

So the “Rally Heroes” league allows RWD conversions?

Yes!

What a joke. Another week of a potential good league ruined by drive train conversions.

I’m not much of a spec fan.
So I pick the rally heros… Sim and spec lobby should go to gather. Endurance it’s complete joke. It’s not fun getting taken out on the first lap every freaking race. Just so you can wait 15min. In the lobby. DONE with this joke…

As far as I know this is the first time the ghost was not available to Elite. I hope it does not stay this way. To get demoted just keep quitting league races. Not sure how long it takes.

It’s because some around kept on saying ghost league is a " total waste" and forget that many others prefer it. Although I prefer sim leagues, I sometimes do race ghost leagues when the crashing in other leagues gets too much for me or when the other leagues are not to my liking.

The spec league in Elite is not too bad so far with few incidents of wrecking, save for one idiot hitting his brakes in the middle of a long straight right in front of me and sent me limping for the rest of the race.
