I have read about crossplay but have a very specific question. I play horizon 3 on the PC. My buddy just got an X1 yesterday. I see I can create chat partys on my pc just like xbox. If I play on the PC and hes playing on his X1 can we join each others lobbys and race together online?
As long as you both have cross play enabled in the game settings and you have xbox app running and loged in YES

While you are on PC make sure you have the Xbox app opened so you can join/create parties with players on Xbox

Go to Settings > HUD and Gameplay > Cross-Play (second from the bottom)
I have a question, i am thinking of buying FH3, if i purchase it from g2a and redeem it on xbox.com does that redeem to my xbox account or pc?
Either, play anywhere means you can play on PC and any Xbox model. You can play on both if you like & the game will even transfer your save data between the systems… F.y.i Do NOT “cancel” the sync operation! The cancel option might as well be labeled ‘delete your save’.
As you are using a digital code you will be able to play on PC and Xbox as digital code is play anywhere provided the account on your PC is the same as the one on your Xbox
