For instance, this new AMG GT Black Series redlines at around 7k. It doesn’t sound like it’s hitting that at all. It sounds like it’s sitting closer to 5.5 - 6k when it hits 7k on the tach. I don’t really get the true feel of this car even with the cam upgrades. This is true for just about every car in game. It’s sad that details like this aren’t considered important. ESPECIALLY when your team touted so much work to the sounds. It’s like they have an aversion to accuracy.
Edit: Yeah. Redlines don’t sound close to right until the race cam upgrade is applied. I just tested a good 200 cars. Pretty sure it’s always been this way since launch. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I think I know what the deal is. Your attempt to make the upgraded cams sound different is just wrong. You’ve shifted the entire pitch of the engine. That’s not how cam upgrades work. The engine gains some RPM, but the original pitch gets deeper and throatier but not necessarily lower. In your case you have the upgraded cams with the original pitch of the engine note and the default is lower pitch. It sounds weird and makes little sense.
What should happen is the sound gains some dynamic range and the idle gets rougher and/or slower. You’re better off just removing the pitch change. Give all the cam upgrades the pitch of the race cams. Each one just gains a lil bit more on the top end. Shifting the pitch of the entire rev range is just weird.
