Hello everybody,
I’m pretty new to Forza Games and it has been love at first sight!
After a while playing and driving around Mexico I discovered the pleasure of making my own designs and liveries. So here I am, with my first post ever on Forza Forum show my firsts designs.
Here are some of my first liveries accomplished with share code if you wanna give them a try. Please feel free to comment with any kind of feedback or advice, as told I’m new in the design business. Any advice
Thank you everybody! see you in the convoy!
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO - Classic 00’s Ralli Art livery
Welcome!
A decent first few. I think my first few were pretty rough.
Advice? Not really. Just hang in there. It can be disheartening at first when you plough all this work in and get few downloads and fewer likes.
One day though, something you’ve made will hit the first page and rocket your DL count. It could take a while… Keep sharing.
I’ll grab that GMC at least.
I’m digging the Jimmy and Lancer designs! I’d definitely pick these up. I am more into simpler or clean designs and these fit the criteria just right. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you guys for your feedback it means a lot!
I’m still in the learning mode so right now I’m not looking too much at downloads. I’m more in gettin familiar with the editor tryng to experiment and find my own style.
Nice work. Getting tons of downloads are tough. I think it’s all luck of the draw (or being a super talented and patient artist). If you look at some of the counts, you will see something just painted black with a stripe could have 10,000 downloads, while quality paints only 100. I found simple things seem to download on the first day (I have a Porsche with just triangles on it and it got 200 downloads and 30 likes day 1). I’ve been playing for years and years and only have 3 cars with over 3000 downloads (and that’s because they used to run weekly contests in FM7 and happen to be a winner 3 times).
What I like to do is paint the cars that drive well. Gives me the ability to pick something quicker when you are doing an online race and don’t have time to tune something. I’m not a great artist, but it fun to put something decent together. I used to do only simple stuff but have gotten more complex over the years and since I put a copy of FH4 & 5 on my PC a year or so ago. It is so much easier to paint on the PC than the console (I mostly paint on the PC and race on the Series X). If you do have a PC, an easier way to get pretty accurate logos and things is using a program that displays a semitransparent image behind the vinyl editor. I use sketch designer. Was trying to duplicate a race livery and was taking forever trying to duplicate all of the sponsor logos. Found sketch designer and cut the time 75%.
My biggest tip is to use the vinyl editor to create things then add them to the car. And try to think backwards. It was most helpful when I created the Jagermeister Logo. Instead of trying to have a bunch of small curvy white shapes on a brown background, I would start with large brown circle, then large pieces of white and cover up the parts I didn’t want with more brown.
Nice designs! I like the Ralliart Evo most.
I also start drawing liveries since December and it is fun. My only advice is don’t bother to concern about the downloads as it is a lottery mechanism. Those get tonnes of downloads do not necessarily be better than yours. Besides, design is a pretty subjective issue.
