Mute link?

anyone know if it’s possible to turn off Link?

You can disable the notifications but tmk, you can’t “mute” the audible tone.

thanks, I’ll have a trawl through settings

it’s Eliminator, basically

I know I hit a tree/rock/something
I know you won the hth
I know whatever it is

so that “see ya” thing achieves nothing positive

in very unusual circumstances it might work but it’d have to be a particularly spectacular fail involving superb car acrobatics

As Bravo said above, I think that annoying noise is tied to SFX as a whole unfortunately.

Wish PG had made it so off really does mean off with Link, anyone who’s gone into their settings to turn it off clearly doesn’t want anything to do with it.

well, it’s okay if used sparingly, but there’s no way of doing that

I use it to genuinely thank anyone who happens to be with me in an Arcade (if they have contributed)

I also use it to thank team-mates for ramming me in the Trial

I never even realized you could disable it for quite some time, but was ecstatic when I learned you could. I get that there are “positive” phrases, but always thought it was pretty ironic in a game that wants to promote good sportsmanship, to have so many derogatory phrases, which are all you typically see as you pointed out. Always felt like it was a waste of game resources overall.

Iirc I don’t hear it chime because I turned off the UI sounds. Otherwise I’ve left link on.

the noise . . . don’t remember hearing it, maybe I turned that off, but for some reason I find those messages too annoying!

This was driving me crazy in FH4’s Trial yesterday. Some mental midget was spamming the hell out of “Go!” during the entire Gauntlet when the team had already won the first two races and was just finishing things out. (Said genius also predictably screwed up multiple times and wasn’t anywhere near the lead.)
