  4. Mesto - Give Me Love
  5. Merk & Kremont - Hands Up ft. DNCE

Instead of making a new topic i’ll keep updating this wishlist. So:

Galantis - BANG BANG! (My Neurodivergent Anthem) [Galantis & Misha K VIP Mix]
Wankelmut x BELLA X - Overdrive

Jungle Fury - RIOT

A Moment Apart - ODESZA

Drifting - Tiesto

Vroom Vroom - Kidd Kenn

Colourfast - PENDULUM

It Goes Like (Nanana) - Peggy Gou

Dopamine - Purple Disco Machine (feat. Eyelar)

PRADA - cassö & RAYE

Both of these are already in the game ( A Moment Apart - ODESZA ,Jungle Fury - RIOT)

The odesza’s song is basically FH4 main screen music, and they also added it in the Horizon Mixtape radio station for the 10th year anniversary.

And Vroom Vroom - Kidd Kenn is a song thats already featured in nfs unbound. Not that there’s something wrong with the same song being featured in multiple games but i just find this pick a bit weird.

“It Goes Like (Nanana) - Peggy Gou” is one of these songs that have copied a unique sound featured in another early 2000s song. It’s just screaming back to the original so much to me. ( ATB - 9PM (Till I Come)

I personally hate to see such iconic melodies being kind of ripped and used in modern music. Its a very much hit or miss most of the time. And this song in particular is a completel rip off. Like there was another mainstream artist (forgot the name of the song) that had used destination calabria the same way. It just infuriates me so much especially since thats my second favorite early 2000s song.

Edit: I even managed to find the destination calabria rip off: Nathan Dawe x Ella Henderson - 21 Reasons,

Some more: Swedish House Mafia - Ray of Solar

Celeste x MK - Stop this flame

Hmm… Personally, I’m thinking of these songs, split into 3 categories:

Songs from rhythm game artists:
t+pazolite - Rush Away
M2U - Shooting Star
EBIMAYO vs. Sugaricia - Golden flame
Frums - Absolute Zero
Onoken feat. Emi Evans - COLOR CHART
Camellia feat. Camellia - Ashed Wings

Drum and Bass:
Matrix & Futurebound feat. Max Marshall - Control
Culture Shock feat. YOU - Universe
AgonyOST - SleeperMKUltra4 (Drum & Bass Mix)
Pendulum feat. Hybrid Minds - Louder than Words
Camo & Krooked feat. Mefjus - Nebula
Sigma - Dilemma

Misc. Songs:
Au5 - Activate
Armin van Buuren - Clap
m1dy - IbaraGi
Virtual Self - Particle Arts
Flux Pavilion feat. Doktor - International Anthem
deadmau5 - COASTED

Notes:

  1. For the “Songs from rhythm game artists” category, I tried my best to not use The BMS of Fighters songs, but feel free to replace it with their BOF work.
  2. Virtual Self is Porter Robinson’s other alias (Look at the Sky, from Nurture, already appeared in Horizon Pulse, iirc)

This wishlist is for bass arena only! Once i’ve excluded those there’s only one song that im particularly liking here and it’s "deadmau5 - COASTED " . I’ll also be adding this to my playlists on spotify

Something i have to acknowledge as well is that a faire amount of the music suggested here is getting increasingly dated. And if they’re building a soundtrack especially for bass arena/pulse they’ll be using more recent music. Nonetheless hopefully this gives a good idea of what a proper music for this radio station should sound like. At least according to my biased opinion. Even if no one really cares about it.

In the future whenever and if im posting more into this wishlist, i’ll be trying to list more recent music

IIRC, deadmau5 already has a song in Horizon 5’s Bass Arena (Channel 43, but it’s a collab with Wolfgang Gartner rather than a solo song), so it gives points for COASTED being a good suggestion.

Tried to match the vibe I get from Horizon Bass Arena (energetic music whenever possible) mixed with a bit of personal bias, so that’s how artists like Au5 and Flux Pavilion get in to my list. Admittedly, this is also why I suggested Virtual Self (Porter’s main songs fit Horizon Pulse more, while Virtual Self is leaning towards sounding like old-school 2000s trance, which I thought fit Bass Arena)

(Though, I admit after reading, maybe Onoken and the entire Artcore genre fits Horizon Pulse more? While Artcore is a subgenre of Drum and Bass (which I recall fits Bass Arena before Hospital got their own radio), it’s much more melancholic…)

Keep them coming btw! I’m trying to make my own bass arena again for the billionth time. Will see if i can do the same for the other stations in the future.

Probably going to scrap even some of my own suggestions too. The music might be great but it just doesn’t quite work, it’s difficult to explain… and im also being quite picky. For example: the music shouldn’t be too old, but it’s also not a hard standing rule. Exceptions are acceptable. Anything from the past 2-3 years is what im looking for.

I know this makes it much harder but the playlist must feel as fresh as possible. The newer the music, the better.

Another rule i have is the playlist shouldn’t feel like the most random songs on spotify thrown into one spot as if the person just clicked the “add” button over and over. It’s not just “some music” to listen to in the background. It’s a currated playlist. And it should feel like one.

Recognizable artists are good to have, especially when looking the tracklist at glance. But also that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t feature lesser known artists. Just don’t fall down to the bottom of the sea. Alternative artists are exceptable.
For example: DJ Danny ( DJ Danny - On A Mountain, Danny L Harle - Ashes of Love )

Copyright free music is generally a NO GO as well. There could be exceptions but only if it’s REALLY, REALLY worth listening to it. And it shouldn’t overflow the tracklist. Say no more than 1-2 songs.

Try not to have music that’s already been in other racing games. Or at least try to avoid the obvious choices.
Like for example: If you are making Block party playlist, the average Joe would jump immeadiately into Nfs music from the 2000s, 2010s or take songs from Burnout paradise.

And last one: You can take the soundtrack from all horizon games as a general idea of what type of music to have and artists. Music that specifically suits the location is acceptable, if you can find any.

Huh… That turned into a lot of text. Hopefully it didn’t deteer you from reading it. And obviously this also applies to how i would view a potential soundtrack for a future game.

skrillex - levels remix
the living tombstone - my ordinary life

When I logged into the game after Update 6, I discovered that new music tracks had appeared. But I thought I could go back to the old tracks, but I was very upset when I didn’t see options in the main menu to turn on the tracks I wanted to hear. When will the ability to select specific music tracks be added to the game? I just don’t want to listen to tracks that were added in Update 6. I want to select music tracks that were before Update 6.

The last time they added new music was for the anniversary update and also with expansion 2’ they brought back Epitaph Records. You can cycle through all radio stations with your d-pad on your controller and get to the tracks you want to listen to, if that’s what you mean. Either this or you’ve enabled streamer mode which only plays copyright free music. You can disable this in your audio settings.

If Horizon ever brings a radio station like Future Classic (similar to bass arena) these 2 songs def deserve to get on it:

Flight Facilities, Owl Eyes - Trouble most def deserves to be there
Elderbrook & George FitzGerald - Glad I Found You

I know another Galantis song but. i’d add. Galantis x Neon Trees - Dreamteam

and ODESZA & Yellow House - Heavier

And:

Confidence Man - Holiday
NONONO - Pumpin Blood (WEKEED Remix)
Armitage- Friday Night

Normally im against Monstercat music but if i had to pick one, it really give me Forza Horizon 1 vibes:

No Mana & SOFI - Digital Friends

House Music for bass arena? These would be cool fit:

Confidence Man - Let Them Bells Ring
Confidence Man - Control
RÜFÜS DU SOL - Break My Love

And: Oliver Heldens & Moguai - Cucumba
