I know currently MSI Afterburner (RivaTuner Statistics Server) still doesn’t work with Forza Horizon 4.
But I am posting this if anyone potentially finds any information or solutions to get this to work.
I would like to be able to set a consistent fps limit above 60 fps but below 120 fps.
RTSS worked just fine during the demo.
Any information or workarounds is much appreciated!
Yes, this I am already aware of, I am also aware that you can have MSI Afterburner running even before the game starts
(If you already have Forza Horizon 4’s application detection level set to None).
But this defeats the purpose since this is basically telling it to ignore FH4.
So your still stuck with not being able to use the framerate limiting tool.
Hi, yes I posted this a bit back on reddit when the game launched for early access. The issue is specifically when it hooks into the renderer to detect framerate and frametime information. What I did to allow me to keep open my EVGA Precision X 4.2.1 for the other benefits is went into RivaTuner Statistics Server and turned “Application Detection Level” to “None” which prevents it from hooking into the renderer.
I know EVGA Precision XOC unfortunately has RivaTuner Statistics Server built in (unlike older Precision versions where it’s separate) so that fix won’t work if you’re using Precision XOC. I’m not too sure on how MSI Afterburner handles things, but as I understand it is closer in nature to the older versions of EVGA Precision with RivaTuner Statistics Server being a side application that feeds data to it rather than being built in.
The game just don’t allow Overlays, Tho If you update RTSS you can leave it running now and the game will still launch, Kind of annoying having to close it down before launching the game or disabling the game detection.
Only thing that overlays in FH4 is Nvidia shadowplay, but thats on the driver level so not much they can do to block that. Be nice if RTSS did work, kind of annoying.
