Moving from a DVD copy to a digital edition

Hi all,
I recently ‘won’ a digital copy of FH2 from the UK Pringles giveaway. I already have a DVD copy and I’d like to install the digital one to save me having to switch DVD’s (I know, I’m incredibly lazy… ).

Does anyone know if I would lose my in-game saves if I were to remove the installed DVD copy? I’ve tried hunting around the Xbox sites with no luck… I’d love someone to point me at a process for doing this, but I don’t think I’ll be that lucky…

Cheers!

As long as you have the game save in your hard-drive… it will work.

Don’t remove the installed copy, just enter the code for the digital version in the “Redeem Code” area and once accepted, you won’t have to stick the disc in the drive again. The game carries on as before.

Rosie’s right, as long as you’re talking about the Xbox One version. I have done this multiple times. Since the disk version installs the full game, you only need to buy or activate a code for a digital edition and you will be able to play immediately without disk, simple as that. You can then sell your disk version since you won’t need it anymore. Xbox 360 games on demand work differently though, and those do require for you to download the disk-less version even if you have installed the game previously.

That’s great - thanks a lot for all the replies. Looks like this should be pretty easy…
