FH2 is now part of games with gold for the month of August. The GwG game is a digital copy which I want to get to replace my physical disc copy since my Xbox disc drive is a bit iffy reading discs. Just wanted to ask:
- How do I change from a physical copy to the free digital copy?
- What happens with my game save if I change to digital, do I need to transfer my game save or will it transfer automatically?
- I have all dlc except pre order pack and furious 7 pack, can I redownload them onto the digital copy? Is the dlc linked to the person’s account?
- I already have the 10th anniversary pack as it was free (I think for a limited time?) when it was first released in 2015, would I have to download the 10th anniversary pack again or will it recognise that I already have it?

I believe it works the same way as FM5 when it went GWG. Sooo
-You won’t have any use for the disc now
-It will automatically “transfer” over, it’s not a new game, just a different way of playing it
-You shouldn’t have to redownload anything because it’s not a new game/save/profile. “Shouldn’t” implying a perfect world, things happen and DLC is known to randomly uninstall sometimes after updates. Yes, it is linked to the persons account.
-It works just as the other DLC you have, since the 10th pack was DLC itself.

You just ‘buy’ the GWG version for $0 and start the game without the disc.
It will only download the DRM file in the background.
The gamedata is exactly the same for disc/digital.
Personally I wouldn’t uninstall anything from your disk version because you’ll just have to download it again.
My Xbox was reset to factory default after a failed update, but all my DLC was in the ready to install section and my game save synced perfectly.
I’d forgot how much wasn’t breakable in FH2, damn lampposts…but it was nice to get a years worth of rewards waiting for me 
No, you won’t have to uninstall anything. When you claim it, it may start a download, realize it’s there, and snap to end of download. Just claim it and play
My disc stopped working so I downloaded the Gw/G and I didn’t have to do anything, I clicked download and it immediately went to play game. I thought I’d start afresh so cant say how the saves work but it shouldn’t cause an issue.
all i did was remove the game disc and click install, it downloaded 140mb which i assume is the digital license.
no longer need the disc, game starts and i have everything still available.
Thanks to everyone for the replies, I only had to click on ‘get’ on the GwG page and I was able to play the game almost immediately without redownloading anything. Also found out that those want DLC can purchase the Complete Add Ons Collection which is on sale on the store for £14.70 (down from £73.49!) and will expire in 4/5 days. This gives you every DLC in FH2 at a very reasonable price!
