mitsubishi is easily the most iconic and successful car manufacturer in the history of the dakar rally, and it’s all thanks to the mighty mitsubishi pajero. with 150 stage wins, and 12 overall victories, the pajero is a car that is very important to off road racing and mustn’t be ignored in a game like forza horizon.

The one Evo that we don’t have, and it’s an absolute shame we don’t have this Dakar legend in Forza

Ive noted that there’s no discussions surrounding the Mitsubishi Pajero-Evolution.
This would be such an addition especially in the rally side of Forza.
Would like to get your opinions and thought

okay according to the research ive done to try and find the specs for the race spec of the generation we have (97-02) other than the facelift for the bodywork there doesnt seem to be any real difference between the road car and the race car. Even the interior remained largely stock -

you basically have a control box on top of the dash for the codriver, and then an aftermarket wheel and thats about it. and from 1st person drivers POV you probably wouldnt even be able to see that box on the dash unless you go out of your way to look at it.

for that generation if you want the race spec - give it rally suspension and make it as soft as possible, give it a roll cage, give it an exhaust upgrade, thats probably it. This car did fall under the “gentlemans agreement” so estimates of its “real power” output vary but from its current power ive only seen people talk about maybe an additional 50-100hp on top of that, nothing crazy like trophy trucks running 600hp+.

another thing you can do is give it a livery, and the transmission upgrade that unlocks final drive tuning since top gear on the normal car is clearly for highway efficency. as long as your car can do like 130-140mph(?) its doing the same top speed as the dakar race car. also dont give it mud tyres, look at those pics, those arent massive knobby tyres, leave them stock or give it rally.

(if thats all too much work heres my attempt at a recreation: 142 212 219 )

The rally version looks amazing with those Panels on the windows compared to the road version

instead of a whole new car, you could ask for a body modification that adds pannels in place of the rear windows. thats what games such as GTA 5 do in their interperetation of the Pajero. This would be easier to add than make an entirely new car with almost identical specs.

All they would need to do is convert the transparent material window to an opaque one, and add to the vinyl map so you can put vinyls there, assuming their vinyls system acts as it does in other games, maybe its more difficult, maybe its even harder, im not sure.

The Dakar Spec has a different interior and the engine is most likely modified too so it should be a separate model once its added since its the racing version
Your recreation is just a livery(I’m not on my pc but I can guarantee its a livery)the Dakar version looks still much more different so no they should add the Dakar version

the interior has a box in it, by the rules they raced in I believe the engine had to remain stock, my recreation is not a livery it is a tune with slight tweeks to the base car including a hypothesised power increase to represent the “true state of things” in regard to the gentlemans agreement and some different tyres.

if added, the only thing a new model would do is cover up the windows at the back and add the box inside, ask for modifications to the current car, not a new car. they can add new modifications while adding OTHER new cars instead, like the mustang GTD or dark horse convertible. please consider this more often when asking for increadibly similar cars to ones we have. every one we get, the longer it will take to get other cars you want.

The fact that this has its own topic proves the race spec version has more than just panels instead of windows the dashboard, the whole interior is different

yes the whole point of me coming here and explaining it is so that people know that what appears to be a “race version” is hardly any different, at least in any way you would be able to experience in game.

the 1st and 3rd generation are significantly more bespoke vehicles for Dakar and are have far more reason to vote for them than the 2nd generation.

and as seen in the image I have shown, no, the interior is literally just the carbon fibre switch box, different steering wheel, and the carpet removed and replaced with non-flammable diamond plate. There is also 1 switch at the bottom of the centre console, and a blanking plate removed and replaced with several buttons. if you are going to be pedantic about it, the race spec one has bucket seats, but even the street car has bucket seats, they are just slightly different bucket seats.

If we get a race version, or those planning to vote on the thread, they should be informed before making the decision. here is the first gen (or seocond gen pre-facelift?) interior, showing how much more different any other version is, and thus more deserving of being added over the second gen post-facelift version.

moreover, here is the 3rd generation race spec interior, also far more deserving than the one we have being released again and labelled as “race spec”

I bet if they add a Rally Dakar Pajero Evolution second gen model in the far future it will be added as a separate model I can guarantee you that

I think they would do that too, but they SHOULDNT do that. this isnt about what they would do, its about what they should do.

Yup under T2 Group rules all the cars had to be production models with allowances mainly being made for Safety Equipment, stuff like Fuel Cells/Oil and Cooling and body pieces like lights/rollbars.

I can’t remember if brakes were allowed modifications but suspension had some degree of leeway in terms of adding adjustability provided it didn’t completely swap out the design and change up the geometry (since it doesn’t make sense to put full Dakar spec dampers and springs on a Road Car).

The T3 Group cars on the other hand were allowed a lot of freedom for modification and basically just had to look somewhat like the production model, Mitsubishi did a few early ones but stopped around the 3rd Gen models.

At the end of the 2002 Season the rules were all changed up and the T3 prototypes pretty much became the default class for factory teams. This is where Mitsubishi kinda went a bit mad with their MR series.
