Missing Braking Boards

Being someone how enjoys playing with the Racing Line assist off, I’ve notice the severe lack of braking boards on most tracks. There is a scattering here and there but the majority are missing. They are missing as they should exist there in real life, as they are there in real life - not to mention other sim game like PC2 , F1 2017 etc
It’s an essential part of racing and needs to be there.

  1. Has anyone else that plays the game in this way noticed this?

  2. Will it be addressed in the form of an update?

  3. If not, is this a sign that Forza isn’t bothering trying to capture or appeal to sim racers?

  1. Yep ! I play mainly In-Car Onboard view, and it’s messing me right up at the moment on some tracks, just guessing where to brake.

  2. I sincerely hope so

  3. The whole game is a mess at present, and I think this will be way down the list. hopefully if enough people complain it might get fixed, but it sure is a BIG oversight for me. Words fail me …

Yes, breaking boards like “300M” - “200M” - “100M” are missing on a lot of tracks.
What I would like to see is that boards would make use of LED design, you know, a 100M mark made up of LED’s.
Would be great to look at and very visible from a distance as well, when coming at a corner at about 300km/h.

Well, one can still hope…

Ya know, I’m glad it’s not just me. I thought I was going nuts… I’d blast into a corner at 148,001 ^10 mph and go “Man, how did I miss that?”. And boom, no braking markers.

Thanks for your reply fellas. Yeah it’s pretty much a deal breaker right now. I can’t take game seriously in it’s current state.
I otherwise like the game but it’s Mickey Mouse for people who like to play without assists.

Sign boards, placards, etc., can be replaced by using only the brake line indicator.

Sure, you won’t see the braking line on a real track, but this is just a game.

So true and most are even in the correct spot alas some give just enough warning that you hit the wall or to much warning, and besides guys Something had to go to make way for Dynamic dodas and ultra 4K that most of us wont even see for a few more years,. and since there is no monetary gain for turning off the Breaking line well except for the 100% credit bonus with 3,000 XP Legendary Mod Card there is just no reason to have breaking warning markers now is there.

Wow snow I can’t believe you’re suggesting that. The breaking line is such a goofy horrible to look at joke of an assist. Sure if you’re trying to get a leaderboard time it’s something you use. but when you’re trying to enjoy the race, I don’t want this humongous colored blob flowing all over the track.

I just find items on the side of the track to use as breaking markers: trees, posts, things like that. Since I drive mostly by feel (I could care less about leaderboards) a little off doesn’t bother me too much. But I can expect a lot of people are really annoyed by this.

Hi, Yes I noticed this.

It does feel the “Driving game for everyone” approach is missing the simulation hunters of us.

I normally drive with the braking line; however, there are a few MODs that challenge the player to turn off everything (lines). I have also noticed the lack of braking boards… but hasn’t this been an issue in past versions (FM6) as well?

Yes, far too many tracks are missing proper braking boards.
If you’re someone who doesn’t like a cartoon like line on the track telling you when to brake it makes it difficult to not overshoot the corner.

The lack of consistent boards is really annoying. Some are hard to read until you get up on them, but at least they’re there.

I’ve been considering going to the braking line but I’d rather no rely on that.

This is crap. I love this game but if it’s not going to be fixed I’m going to go with PC’s as my go to game
