Mercedes SLR McLaren 2004-2013

Just because models are highly requested isn’t a guarantee they’ll be added asap.

Everyone knows this car has had a tumultuous past in terms of licensing and the process is under some of the strictest NDA in the industry.

Maybe it will come, maybe it won’t.

It all depends on what Licensing can or can’t do within their budget and abilities.

We know that, at this point I’m guessing Microsoft just doesn’t want to deal with it.

Maybe, I wouldn’t be surprised if the requirements for this is a fat check with a lot more digits on it compared to other models.

Might be case of value where although this is highly requested there are multiple other highly requested models which can be obtained with less cash and effort.

You’re not wrong there, it just sucks is all I’m saying.

Yea definitely.

This is pretty much my dream car and I still go back to FH2 occasionally to drive it.

Same, or I go to FM6 since that was the first Forza game I got, also the last game to feature this car.

I still think the real reason we don’t have it is because McLaren and Mercedes probably both have to be paid to include it, and the licensing department at Microsoft is being chintzy.

Yea, as I said I think they both want a fairly high price that means you can multiple other models for the same figure.

I’d be interested to see if we maybe get the 722 GT Racecar in Motorsport at some point as that was done by Alan Mann so might be a bit easier to get.

This is obviously the fact I discovered, I didn’t own any Xbox or PS consoles, which is a pity.

As someone who only have a gaming PC, I’m quite disappointed.

Well you can use the XBOX 360 simulator to play Forza Motosport 4 on PC, I sucessfully doing it so I can drive Altezza or SLR in the game, only thing that I need to complain is the resolution is 720p with low graphics settings. But who care about this as long as we can drive our favorite car in the game

It’s Xenia. An X360 emulator. The same thing can happen to Horizon 1.

Old games may not be too detailed but they are filled with pure nostalgia. That’s what we grew up with, back when we are kids.

Agree here mate, I grow up with NFS UG2 and MW. Right now those triple A racing game get huge improvements of the graphics, but the core gameplay is not longer fun aymore. NFS had worse story mix boring gameplay, forza motosport is failing and FH5 just a reskin of FH4. Back at fh3 and 4 we still got lots of good car we can choice. But rn… :smiling_face_with_tear:

Devs out there cared for graphics rather than good gameplay elements. How sad this world becomes now, right? Forza used to be great in the past such as FM4 but now, not anymore.

Meanwhile, for Gran Turismo, it still keeps up ever since the first game in 1997. Although it’s a PS exclusive, but still remains as the best racing sim ever. You know, it was so popular when the first game arrived on PS1, with graphical improvements on PS2. And later in the PS3 era, some bad things happen to Gran Turismo like how bad the cars’ engine sounds are, and maybe how PS2 era cars are copy-pasted to the PS3 games.

When Gran Turismo Sport releases, it has smaller content at day 1 all because every asset they have, needs to be rebuilt from the ground up (These words is what Forza Motorsport used, and turns out to be the biggest lie ever as this is why they failed). It’s literally their introduction to the next-gen and sooner or later, people understand that not only the Graphics, but the Car model quality and Engine audio were improved as well. And now, Gran Turismo 7 came and spiritually succeeds GT Sport by improvising the gameplay elements and adding more content like cars and tracks as promised. At least though, GT7 is improving in the most recent times and they got their love back from their past.

Speaking of Forza’s car choices in the older titles, we missed some of them in the recent games. All because of “licensing” and stuff, in which I cannot take it as an excuse anymore, my friend.

Well Gran Tuismo still remaining the old style they had in the past, which is focus on the actual car content and you can see the developer are actually enthusiastic about car. Why? If you look at our Forza voting list, some of the highly request car like Mercedes SLR, Toyota GR Yaris, Bugatti Bolide, Maserati MC 20 and etc are already in GT7 before even the fans asking, those developer are actually care about car culture and know what car that most ppl would like to see. But look at forza, what do we got? Some boring EV, Chinese Minivan and some ancient 1950s car in multiple updates. Forza developer don’t care or know about car culture at all. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Funny how everything you explained is true, and this is why Forza devs are obviously non-car people and unenthusiastic. Not only they add boring cars, they also drip-fed cars from previous titles. Speaking of cars from older Forzas, they still reused their old models, which are outdated as of today and they still reuse old content from their old games.

Gran Turismo devs are Very well-enthusiastic car people, because their lead creator is a car guy and he teaches them very well. Even the creator gets to race in the Nurburgring during the 24h Championship using a Nissan GTR GT3 back in 2013 and BMW M6 GT3 in 2016. What a legend he is, as he participated real life Motorsport racing. Although, they never had an official forums to vote for cars in their game, but they are promising to add cars that we want! And for their cars returning from their older games, they fully remodeled them to the Ultra Extreme-crisp quality for the PS5. You can tell that Gran Turismo devs are very talented in modeling cars now, because they even scanned the cars’ closest inch of details and the model Polygons are totally maxed out beyond the limits. This is obviously the reason why Gran Turismo is a masterpiece of racing games. With car-enthusiastic developers and all the car cultures explained, it is the real definition of a car game.

I obviously grew up playing Gran Turismo PSP. My forever childhood game.

Oh and Bugatti Bolide isn’t added in GT7 yet. They added the Chiron btw.

Well, not just Microsoft, because around 4 years ago, EA is also being chintzy because they removed SLR from NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered after finding out that “Mercedes and McLaren cuts ties.” Meaning, they will no longer feature it in new NFS games anymore. However, their mobile NFS game - No Limits, still featured the SLR without any licensing problems.

If we persuade EA, then they should give Hot Pursuit Remastered a little update to add SLR back.
