During the weekend I was at Blancpain GT Series at Brands Hatch enjoying the awesome weather and the racing. There was parking inside the circuit for super car owners, so there were cars ranging from Nissan Skyline R33’s to a Lamgorghini Murcielago SV which were all stunning! Then there was a McLaren P1 just parked with a crowd around it. After taking a look around the car in Forza 5 it was beautiful and I thought this was the closest I would get to being near a McLaren P1 but on Sunday I was lucky enough to be close to the real deal and the in-game P1 is exactly like the real version. Every little detail which was amazing.
I grabbed a few shots of the car both in-game and in real life.
(I will apologise for not taking the best of quality photos (Xperia S) Also the picture of the front I had a Porsche Carrera GT behind me and I was trying not to lean on it.)

Vehicle modeling has certainly come a long way in just 10 year’s time. It hard to fathom what the next 10 years will lend to. Do you happen to know if that was the real deal or just a mockup? Either way, thanks for sharing!
The McLaren P1 in the photo is the real deal, it was the only car here that someone was watching over to make sure nobody touched it, also the driver of this P1 previously owned a McLaren MP4-12C on the same plates.
The modeling in Forza 5 is just amazing. I can’t even begin to imagine what Forza 6, 7 and 8 will look like. Also, you don’t by any chance have any pictures of that Corvette C6 in the background do you? If you do I’d love to see them. It looks like a Jeff Gorvette replica from the movie Cars 2.
This is why I am thankful for living in Michigan. No front license plates to ruin the design. Haha.
Yeah, I think Forza actually had the graphical appearance initially to the level of photo mode and replay mode because they could, but when adding other vehicles and other players it probably developed some issues. I think by Forza 6 they will have all of those kinks worked out to make it look like that.
The model is absolutely wonderful indeed, and because I think the McLaren P1 is one of the most beautiful cars out there - at this time - I find it even more wonderful. But one thing does ‘bother’ me, and that is the rear wing spoiler. It doesn’t go down, right? It’s always up. I would love for the spoiler to rise when going 80MPH, and for it to lower when doing less.
That’s the only thing that’s off putting to me, in-game. I too would would prefer the spoiler to raise out from the car instead, then lower back down instead of being fixed into place.
