I would try to start a boycott, but unfortunately there are far too many people at this point who will outright blindly buy the next title assuming these little things will be made more streamlined, importing paints/designs will be fixed, and controller support will be re-added (as it’s apparently been removed based on recent activity).
And so, I just give in and merge into the flock of Sheeple. I like painting cars enough to compensate.
It would be nice to have a list of tunes, but a boycott?.. you could say that the advantages of AWD over RWD are also relevant to tuning problems. There would be boycotts for many thing if people felt the need to boycott the game. You have to decide as an individual if you are going to buy the game.
I sure hope this is something they clean up in FH5. Since there is no global tune management, tunes should be capped per-car. Each car already needs to carry its own purchased parts list. A tune is basically just an installed parts list plus any user tuning adjustments. I suspect their storage footprint is relatively small, at least in comparison to 3000 layer per surface liveries.
Sadly no. This is something i wanted for ages to be implemented on fh4, but of course it never was.
A filter to show unused and duplicated tunes, for example. Why in the gods heaven is this not a feature? . . .
The same goes for the cars. Why is there not an option to show only NEW cars? i have 720+ cars. Sometimes i get a new car, and im not sure if i already have it and i forgot what car it was. I need to go through all my frikkin hundreds of cars to find it. Ridiculous.
Which is the clumsiest way possible for them to do it. They could just have “owned” under the cars like in the Forzathon shop. I don’t know how many times I’ve bought or bid on cars at the auction house I already owned.
It’s off topic but I use the autoshow “Owned” filter to find those wheelspin cars. The non autoshow cars are usually ones I remember. A work around that kinda works since I only keep 10 to 20 that are available from the autoshow.
On topic, I got in that Porsche 356 that just was awarded from online quali and found a tune that was downloaded probably a couple of years ago as it’s a car I’ve deleted from the beginning. So yes, you have to go through cars one by one pretty thoroughly since there is not a list of unshared tunes.
I just got that damn message and have to check probably a 100 cars for old tunes. I can’t believe that they didn’t just add (which could be enabled/disabled in settings) the number of tunes stored for any particular vehicle in the garage view for each car icon. After all this time (and with the last 12-16 months in hindsight) they haven’t added much of anything in the way of features to the game except for lifting the pointless Photo “challenge” from FH3. I know they’ve been busy working on another game but hey, having studied system development and programming I know that a simple feature like that wouldn’t take much time or effort at all; it’s a two-part job - 1. Create a few extra values in their user database on their servers to connect the tunes to the cars (which is easily automated with some SQL code) and sync them… 2. Implement a data field in the template for the car “icon” and put the number of tunes for any given car from the user database/server side user data into the data field.
I obviously don’t know the structure of their client-server setup or have any kind of access to their source codes etc. but their setup will follow the same general structure as most client-server systems.
Wait … but you can report your own tunes, there are priorities … players … always complaining …
sarcastic mode
imho, game is too big, future is micro services, just make APIs. Some good guys will make extra ordinary apps to manage your garage, same for vinyls, same for rivals …
I tagged sarcastic, possibly it was not clear enough. Have a look at my xbox profile, I let you conclude on the probability I faced this damned blocking message when you create a new tune version for one of your cars and you have to cancel it because you have no more slots …
Do you really expect they will spend money on managing this kind of issues on secondary features that affects only intensive players months after game release … how such can get to the top of priorities ? I just try to be realistic, if they could just do the effort of providing APIs, we could have fantastic apps.
