Looking for A class multiplayer advice

I’m having trouble competing in Forza 7 in A class online. I think I’m struggling to find competitive cars and tunes. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some suggestions? I’m sure my driving has a lot of room for improvement but I know having the right cars is also very important. What do you think of what I’ve been racing with and if you have suggestions please help me out!

I’m currently driving the following:

2014 Alfa Romeo 4C
A700 grip tune from BerliumBear
Div Spec All tune from Raceboy77

2005 Honda NSX
Div Spec Grip tune from Raceboy77
A700 Power tune from TUS JuularDT
Grip tune from EMW Venom

1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR
sls evo 6 tune from SLS Knockhill
3.7L V6 VVT Grip tune from EMW Venom
A grip tune from TX3 Lightning

Both the NSX and the Evo are highly competitive in A class, so you’ve chosen solid cars.

What I’ve always done if I find that I’m not happy with how I’m doing in a certain class is to drop to a slower one and focus on going faster in those slower cars. Focus on maintaining corner speed and precise throttle control when exiting corners where full throttle is too much.

After getting used to the sense of speed in the fast cars, with the slower cars it’s easier to focus on the fine details.

So consider dropping to C class and run a stable, easy to drive car that allows you to focus on developing your skill as a driver. To take tuning our of the equation maybe sort the cars and choose one already near max PI in C, then add sport suspension parts and go racing.

Are the tunes I listed competitive tunes though? If they don’t have a good build and tune that could also be my problem.

I know I need more practice but I want to make sure I’m racing with competitor cars and tunes

Specific to your question on the tunes you re using…

I have used tunes from Raceboy77, TUS JuularDT, EMW Venom, TX3 Lightning…and they are all solid Tuners. I have not used BerliumBear or SLS Knockhill, so, can not comment on these. However, also check the DL’s, stars and usage provided the the tune.

I’d second Sgt FancyPants’ suggestion for dropping down a class or two to hone your skills if you are struggling in A Class. When I first started racing I was about 10 seconds a lap slower than the race winners, I dropped all the way down to the slowest classes and gradually built up as my experience of the tracks and cars improved. I’m now usually within a second of the fastest lap every race (unless there are some mega drivers in the lobby, the kind that have their own YouTube channel for example).

You can still have an absolute blast in the lower classes and it really will pay dividends in the end

I’ll give you the best advice you’ll hear.
Dont use op cars use cars that are sub par first learn to make them competitive it will make you a better racer in the long run.
Its bad enough in this game with all of the braking line assist users on top of that dont be one of those plus a op car user every race meaning dont use a op car or very good cars every race trust me.

The braking line assist is the only thing that tells me anything about how much grip I have at the front tires after I’m off the brakes. On the brakes I get controller vibration, on throttle I get controller vibration, but there’s no vibration telling me if I’m trying to make the car cut too tight of a corner. The color of the line and the car’s relation to the are the only clues I have regarding how much grip I have at the front tires.

If I were given some tactile feedback like I’m given by a real car I wouldn’t need the line, and I’m dead positive that the drivers at the top who use it would still be ridiculously fast without it.
