My buddy is playing on “Ultra” by default and has the issue with an RX 590. That’s not it!

I am having the same issue with a 580X 8GB
The issue improves on BMW logo and 918 name badge when I turn Car LOD from High to Ultra, but number plate and other logos still have black box behind them

Same here. And by the way, does any of the game devs people actually reading these forums and offering solutions? I’ve seen so many posts on any issues with “SOLVED” tag, but they’re not actually solved, there’s no official replies from the devs. So what’s the point on this forum other than interacting with fellow players?

I have an AMD RX480. I installed the game yesterday and came across this issue. I found this thread when looking for a resolution and saw it is still unresolved. I then looked at AMD’s site and saw the latest version of the drivers (21.12.1) have this in the release notes under “Fixed Issues”:

Visual corruption may be observed on a vehicle’s logo or license plate number while playing Forza Horizon 5™ on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeon™ RX 500 series Graphics.

I tried it, and it fixes the issue for me. This version of the drivers was released on 12/3/2021. It is considered an “Optional” update though. The “Recommended” drivers are version 21.10.2 and still have the issue. To download them, I had to alter the settings in the AMD Radeon Software by clicking the gear in the upper right hand corner and changing the “Preferred Software Version” to “Recommended+Optional.” I don’t know if installing this will cause potentially any instabilities since they are not flagged as “Recommended,” but it worked for me.

I hope this helps anyone experiencing this issue!

Thank you for the information. Will this drivers still prompt the game to complain about out of date drivers I suppose? I am using an AMD R9 390, and most of the time the FPS field under settings is black, so the game runs at around 21fps. I need to try and restart it a few times until it will allow be to set FPS and the card has no issue with high settings and good performance. I do want to get rid of those black decals however. I am currently using the latest NimeZSlim drivers.
