Yea made tha suggestion but it seems to have been overlooked for some reason If Dusty keeps trying the AH one will turn up sooner or later or ther is the optin that you suggested and he arranges to buy one from another player via the AH.
Then again It may turn up by the 8th of December 2017 in the Specialty Dealer. Not like it has not happened before.
Dam good question there as I have had Xbox gold forever I dont quite know but if you ar on PC then No you do not need Xbox Gold for online compeonents of the game. As far as I can rember for the Xbox you only need Xbox Gold to use Multy Player feactures and as the Auction house is not a Multy Player feactuer you should only need the Basic Xbox free Silver if they still call it silver that is.
OK I will just go and get the tractor and the chains so I can drag this rotting stinking Dead Horse out of reach of you people I believe it has been beaten so badly I may need to get the Rural Fire bergade in to hose away all the splatter.
And your right once a car has been unlocked by a player either from the SD or Forzathone it should be unlocke for purchase I get the point of the level up cars and the cars for doing the Career being locked as every one will end up with thoes cars once they do the necessary races, but not the rest T10 would have been better off not releasing the entire car list and not desplaying any car slated for SD or Forzathone.
Then again we dont really need the SD it adds nothing to the game and reminds me of EverVerse with Tess selling of pize boxes.
As for Bounty hunter I think as long a you put down a Clean lap that should be enough and offer 500,000 credits and 50,000xp for beating the time set
They do need to change the wording that cars come in loot crates. While the games unlocked cars can be obtained that way, the locked cars cant and its only on the locked cars the list of ways to obtain cars comes up. So I can see why there is confusion.
I honestly don’t mind cars being locked to progression or as prizes (GT’s licence prizes), only being able to get the Renault F1 car by winning the final championship for example. To me that would give me something to work towards in my own time and get rewarded for my efforts. Having to wait weeks and months until T10 lets us buy the cars for time limited period with cars that have been arbitrarily locked isn’t my idea of a fun gaming experience.
Also you can never have a break from Forza as you need to make sure you have the money to buy the weekly specialty deals, you can’t really take a couple week break from the game when you get burned out. What also could spoil the game, is that if the cars I’m desperate to use come when I’m burned out with the game I’ll not use them, like the Porsche DLC for FH2 or the 928 in FH3, I was happy to get those cars, but after 5 minutes I realised I had nothing to do with them. I know game devs do things like this to get you to keep coming back, which strikes me as on odd thing as its basically admitting they don’t have confidence in the product. I’d certainly be playing more and getting bored less if I could use certain cars that I’m not able to right now.
Yes you can rent cars but you can’t adjust the setup of rented cars with adjustable parts, you can’t even change the manufacturer paint options like the freeplay cars of FM4. That was changed in FM5 to make buying more appealing, no doubt to encourage micro transactions. This leads me to worry that all this car locking and loot crates are there to set up for micro transactions in FM8. What if you didn’t have to wait 4 months until T10 throw the Miggins Motorsport GTI in the specially dealer and instead you could pay 2.99 and have 3 random locked cars or pay 29.99 to have the 100 locked cars unlocked.
Going back to my earlier comment about the loot boxes being mentioned on the screen when you try to buy a locked car. They could easily add them to the loot crates when they open up loot crates to being purchased with real money.
My last gripe with the system is that you can’t chose the colour of the specially dealer/forzathon cars, meaning you waste valuable design save slots on a manufacturer colour.
Its just a shame that under all the bugs and bad decisions there is actually potential for something that could be a really great game, not just the ok one we have.
I get what you’re saying, I really do, and a lot of the blame lies with that stupid generic message on locked cars. I wouldn’t imagine it would be too hard to publish a list of the locked cars, along with which way(s) to get them.
For instance
Car X - Will be in the Speciality dealer in December
Car Y - Will be a Forzathon prize in January
Car Z - Will be a prize in a special Christmas/Holidays event
At least then they’re giving people an idea of when they’ll need their credits for, or when they need to be keeping an eye out. People flinging precious credits at loot crates in the vain hope that there will be a locked car in them, when there may not be any locked cars in loot crates at all, is both unfair and exploitative. If there ARE no locked cars in loot crates, someone needs to categorically say that so that people aren’t wasting their in game currency with no chance of getting them.
There are a lot of people that are annoyed that cars are locked, but if people knew roughly when and how they could be unlocked, they’d be a lot happier.
As I said, I entirely get why people are angry, but I think that some people are angry for the wrong reasons, and some people are just jumping on the bandwagon because they like to have something to complain about. In any case, with a little interaction and information from Turn 10, all of this could so easily be avoided…
It’s not about that at all. There are ways for him to obtain the car, he just doesn’t like the options. It was in the SD when it became available, he didn’t buy it then. It was offered up on this thread for the AH, he declined. It has been available on the AH, not that the times he has looked but it has been, he didn’t buy it from there and apparently doesn’t want to.
It isn’t available the EXACT way HE thinks it should be and that is what brought on the entitlement accusations. It has only become an issue now, because he needs the car and doesn’t have it, despite having an opportunity to acquire it in the past.
So, last night I went and spent $5 Million CR on the Car Prize Crates. I did get a whole bunch of cars, but I really don’t know if any of them were “Locked” Cars. It certainly didn’t tell me they were locked, and when I look at the “Collection” list, they display as “owned” but there are no locks next to the photo.
So, how do we know which cars were originally locked?
Any car you cannot buy from the Buy Car or Car Collection screen is a locked car. Check for the cars you have questions about in the Buy Car screen. If you try to select a locked car you already own from the Car Collection screen it will tell you you already own the exclusive content.
I want all cars now, and nothing you can say will convince me that I wasn’t wronged in some way by the decision to make cars rewards for playing the game!
Regardless of facts, evidence to the contrary and common sense this is some conspiracy designed to inflict mental anguish and make me spend more money!
I can sell mine on the auction house, so you would have to find someone to sell you theirs. I dont know of any way to earn a second one in the game other than starting over from the beginning.
Stang is right - Cars unavailable to others should not be used in a competition unless it is some VIP/DLC mumbo jumbo. Not everyone can afford VIP/DLC so they already missing the credit boost/cars so why kick them in the guts when they are already at a disadvantage. You can always buy SD cars in the AH with a quick search just you will probably pay a little more but obtainable. If they boast 700 cars in the game take the locked ones out there are so many for T10 to choose from for comps so it is just picking a sore tooth with a paperclip IMO.
@PJTierney I can’t even buy a car at the AH and keep the parts in most cases so what you are asking is playing Russian Roulette. Someone has to go first so let me know how it goes.
