Lexus NOT American Carmaker BUT Japanese

I just realized that all the cars of the Lexus brand are categorized as from the United States which is wrong. Lexus is of course a Japanese carmaker.

Playing on XSX.

It’s probably because Lexus was primarily intended for the NA Market and they were first publicly unveiled there in 1988 before the launch of the LS400 in '99.

They only actually launched in Japan in 2005 when they first split from Toyota.

I don’t really have faith in this being addressed though since atleast there’s an argument for Lexus to be classified as American compared to a Brand like Brabham which is classed as UK despite their Headquarters and Production being completely based in Australia.

That is partially right but I understand what you mean.

The Lexus brand was not primarily aimed for the US market. At first it was aimed for all markets outside of Japan. In Japan their vehicles were sold under the Toyota brand until 2005 (but there was no split then - it was and is the same owner). The start was actually the US market but e. g. the plan to sell in Europe and Middle East was existing from the very beginning. It was only executed some months later than in the US. As far as I am aware - the HQ and all factories were and are all the time in Japan with the exception of the factory for some SUV (which are made in Canada).

Furthermore I do not think that it is 1:1 comparable to Brabham because there was an UK-based Brabham company existing which later has been overtaken by Brabham Australia (and today is their daughter company). So maybe this is why in Forza Brabham still is categorized as UK brand.

Actually Lexus is a US Brand but you dont seem to be Bothered by the fact Acura is american.

All lexus vehicles and if you pay attention to the history from lexus and toyota and read all about them you would be knowledgeable that Lexus was made for all over the world. But in the late 90s and early 00s. Toyota and lexus announced that Lexus is an american brand and they stand proud by saying that. Majority of there cars are produced and are designed for American market first before anywhere else. Like Acura is doing now since they are now an american based company since 2001. Thats why you wilk see Honda/Acura Integras. Acura/Honda NSX.

Like Toyota is a jap company but majority of there vehicles are sold and built in america with a lot of them having stamps saying “american proud - toyota” in a lot vehicles in hidden locations since a huge chunk of toyota is american based and there HQ is now in america. Toyota is classified as an american brand but racing games fall it under japanese market.

Hyundai and Kia owns Genesis but its also an american company even tho genesis is under practicality of its own brand. Its weird sustainability but they are in correct categories if you like it or not.

Why do you think the lexus I6 IS300, i6 Sc300, v8 sc430, and more fell under Toyota in other countries but only Lexus was in america and we got the “better” varients instead of an 4cyl Altezza, bad I6 Soarer by toyota ect ect. And why are lexus still powered by V8s today while toyota has dropped it a looong time ago.

Lexus is a Japanese carmaker.

Lexus (ăƒŹă‚Żă‚”ă‚č, Rekusasu) is the division of the Japanese automaker. The Lexus is marketed in more than 90 countries and territories worldwide and is Japan’s largest-selling make of premium cars. It has ranked among the 10 largest Japanese global brands in market value. Lexus is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan.

Also, Toyota only started dropping V8s in 2021 (which is not that looooong time ago). And yet they still they offer some V8 models to this day. Toyota Century still has V8. Toyota LandCruiser 70 still has V8.
Toyota HQ is still in Japan btw.

Toyota is headquartered in the city of Toyota which was named Koromo until 1951, when it changed its name to match the automaker. Toyota City is located in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan.

And US didn’t get a better version of Z30 Soarer. That bad I6 had way more power and torque. Z40 Soarer was available with V8 in Japan from the start.

The issue I opened here was just about Lexus.

What I wrote is 100 % correct. Trust me bro - I know what I am talking about. If you do not trust me - no problem. Ask anybody else. But please do not write alternative facts here.
