Lets all congratulate Sony and Gran Turismo

Picked up a disc PS5 on Black Friday deal for £380, picked up a disc copy of GT7 for £30. Been having a blast and the matchmaking actually works

Even if I was utterly disgusted with the game and it had somehow murdered my favourite pet, I still wouldn’t be enticed into getting a PS5 or GT7. I’ve had bad experiences on both of those fronts and am disinclined to give either another chance.

Best Choice. Congrats !!!

I’m not defending T10 and Forza. I’m also deeply disappointed. But why we need this kind of stupid post in forza forums?!

Congratulate every1 in they’re success in GT forum…

Totally agree, why the need to announce your jumping ship to GT7 escapes me.Its not like T10 will be bothered.Just pountless.

The mods have the final say on what is and is not allowed on the forum.

This thread has been civil, and most of us aren’t happy we’re being pushed toward the competition, but we have no other choice due to the unacceptable state FM released in, let alone the many game design decisions that were made that are also contributing to the exodus.

I know posts like this could be seen as flame bait…

But I think in the case of FM, it’s important to let T10 know how bad they screwed up. So bad a lot of us are going to the competition because it’s the single most egregious issue a product can have (push users to the competitor).

regular price is 649.99 plus 13% tax and electronics recycling fee its 750, GT7 for ps5 is 89.99 plus tax is 100$ so looking at 850$ cad after taxes for a ps5 so yeah not 1k but close

Being that I play on 3rd person camera, GT7’s camera style is kind of a deal breaker for me. It looks like you’re steering the camera and not the car. Pay attention to it next time you play and you can’t unsee it. It’s like you can’t visually see the cars physics. Forza allows the camera to shift a bit showing a bit more of the cars bodywork when you steer which to me makes you feel like you’re “driving” more. GT7 with its camera absolutely PINNED to your rear doesn’t give that effect.

I haven’t played GT7 and I’ve seen mixed opinions on who has better physics. One thing I do know about FM’s physics model is that at its core it’s so good, there’s no way GT7’s can have a unanimous advantage as I’ve seen complaints about GT7’s physics model as well.

There are settings which allow for the adjustment of the camera.

There could be more current settings too with recent updates, I don’t know for sure as I don’t play GT7 (yet), but in doing my research I found the ability to adjust GT7’s weird camera and it made me less hesitant to buy GT7.

I personally switched to roof/hood cam with radar on because of that situation. I agree I absolutely hate the chase cam in GT7 compared to FM. (May have to try what’s in the vid above)

Physics wise I definitely appreciate the fact I can drive the cars stock without the ridiculous amount of drive off understeer I get in Forza. Can’t really say which one is better in tuned cars though.

I think nobody here is jumping ship. I just now own PS5 and XSX. I’ll even play Forza either way…for me it’s just the best way to not get frustraited with current state of the game and enhoy PS exclusieves.

I personally like chase cam in GT7 but maybe because watching so many driver swap comp where one is always spectating that I got used to it.

Tell me. How many actual track days do you have under your belt? I’ve got plenty and I can tell you from experience that GT7 is about as far from realistic as it can be. Is it easier to play on a controller? Debatable. Is it easier to play with a wheel? Absolutely. Do any of the cars have their own unique characteristics? Negative. Especially when fully upgraded. My actual M3 handles far better than the M3 in that game and it drives me absolutely mad. FM gets really close tho. Other cars that I’ve driven IRL that GT7 misses by quite a bit include - McLaren 650S, Ferrari 458, Porsche 911 ( pretty much all of them ). FM is definitely closer to authentic than GT7 in the handling dept. By quite a bit.

Not nearly enough, unfortunately. Detriments of being too poor for the hobby. And while I will grant that GT7 is not a high-water mark for realism, I still find it to be far more authentic than this game is based on the experiences that I have had. A BRZ shouldn’t handle as poorly stock as it does in this game. It should be a bit of a handful, but it shouldn’t not want to make a turn. And the S550 Mustang…yeah, the only way that car should understeer like it does in Motorsport 2023 is if you have completely blown the corner by 40 mph or the rubber on the car is shot. Even on cars I have never driven, I have seen them driven enough to reasonably infer that something is off with how they are presented. This is particularly evident with the race cars, but it goes as far down as some of the lower-end supercars.

Nah. GT7 is waaay more understeery when you push the cars beyond their imagined limits ( driving line / braking zones etc ). At least in FM I can correct the understeer by letting off the throttle / braking. Do that in GT7 and you’re still going off the track. It’s annoying and completely unrealistic.

Well i can say considering i own an 94 silvia k and drove it both 100% stock and now modified forza is completely inaccurate and is much worse then GT. when trying to drift it cant in forza when stock but again irl i can clutch kick a bone stock one in 2nd and hold a solid drift. Same with a 1990 nissan 240sx with a single cam KA, stock with welded diff can easily do a burnout and again drift it in 2nd but forza not even close its way to underpowered in game to hold even when entering at 100kph

Super GT has quite a few too and has said on camera GT7 is better.

I have high hopes for Assetto Corsa 2, which is due to be released next year. :crossed_fingers:

Does GTA give you the ability to play free race mode and select ANY classes of cars to drive your car against?

For example, in FM I can race a 919 vs a LaFerrari vs a Civic Hatch vs 911 Carrera if I want (with the ability to choose up to 4 car classes to put against each other.

This is by far my favorite feature. Also the “test drive” which I believe GT7 doesn’t have?

Can you select multiple car divisions/classes to race against in offline mode in GT7 or are you forced to race against your own division? T

In GT7 you can make your own grid with your garage cars.

That’s fair. I’m going to chalk that up to the tuning of the cars tho. The handling model isn’t really at fault. I have this M3 GTS dialed and it’s extremely close to how my E92 M3 handles for real. Funny thing about this is that I’m using the settings I would IRL in game and they’re working. Spring rates of my ohlins coilovers. Alignment spec. Just about all of it is a mirror of the car I have in my garage and it’s really close. Not totally spot on, but feels really really close.

So whoever is doing the tuning of these suspensions needs to let go of old practices and get some hot tips from actual suspension specialists.
