Yes, it’d be ‘nice’ to bring back some of the missing pieces of the franchise. But here’s the kicker, in order to incorporate a great audience, they’ve reduced the tags that required backend work on XboxLive, so that when they do ‘switch over’ to being truely cross platform, they’ll be able yo offer things that BOTH. Platforms can handle and use.
Someone said that the new PC Forza Motorsport:Apex is a watered down or retuned version of Forza 6. It’s not. If one reads and listens to what the different vids and PZr blurbs are saying, is that Apex is a complete game, but with just a limited number of cars- to begin with, and other aspects will be added as DLC as time progresses.
Remembering also, that the new Win10 OS is built along the lines of the Forza Os, and the new Turn10 trademarked Proprietry Property engine that now drives the new Forza rebuild.
You can see how the two will merge, eventually. Controllers and perriferal a can be used on the PC that are available for the Xbox One already. the Elite Controller will no doubt eork quite well on a PC with Zforza, or any other FPS fir that matter.
Back to your point, and I know it was more fu. Than serious, ok. But, one dies need to move forward, and in order to to do, a company often has to cut certain things in order fir it to work more seamless
Y with the other, that being, the all new Win10… They’re even dropping the whole “Windows” thing it seems, as PAr blurb now has it as “Win10” - which is very Mac-ish. And as they said, they want yo get into that market the Apple iOS has been able to harvest.
Back in 1998-99, it took a dedicated team of just 10 ppl to convince Bill Hates that “The Xbox” will eventually be an integral part of everyone’s living room, not the bedroom where consoles always seemed to be located.
Mr Gates was reluctant at first, he wanted an OS to run the Xbox, but the initial team stated quite rightly I might add, that gamers wanted ‘instant access’, and waiting several minutes for an OS to wind-up and get ready to play, was totally unacceptable as far as gamers were concerned.
So, reluctantly he acquiesced and told them they had a year to prove it to him. Which they did. They built a very small OS that use an Apple Mac PowerPC chip to spin up the console in less than 30-60 seconds from blank screen to it shoeing a dashboard.
History was made, and the Xbox was born. Ask a Major Nelson, he’ll verify this for sure. As he was there back then. Had a slightly different job as such, but he was there, helping build the “community” - which he still does, and rather magnificently to I might ad.
Sorry for the ramblings, I once wrote a great deal about the birth of the Xbox, and it just pops out every now and then lol…
But yes, it’d be nice, but highly doubtful I’m afraid. Full steam ahead… And leave “Steam” behind in doing so. Hense the reason to build something that both PC and Xbox users can use that allows them to both buy and use a system inside Microsft, rather than use external means, such as Steam etc.
Here’s just a little titbit that some might find odd.
As the first Xbox was rolling off the production line, the Xbox 360 was already well underway, it even had several mock-up designs being considered, and the name had already been decided on. While it was using its technical name in the press, the real name was hidden within the various pieces of paperwork travelling around the departments.
It’s when I actually first decided to cjamge my gamer tso to XboxOZ360, as I’d noticed something odd within the various papers I was reading… Lol.
So, the 360 was actually being built as the FIRST BBB (commonly known as the Big a Black Box) was rolling off the production plants (there were 3 btw)
