The Lambo Centrenario! Interesting, from Ford onto Lambo! The cover car teased in the article.
GENEVA – March 1, 2016 (TBC) – At the Geneva International Motor Show, partners Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios and Lamborghini announced their latest collaboration to feature the all-new Lamborghini Centenario super sports car as the cover car of the next title in the award-winning Forza racing franchise. The Xbox game will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 2016, and the Centenario will be available “First in Forza,” giving millions of fans around the world the exclusive opportunity to experience the virtual version of the car on Xbox before its road debut.
Lamborghini technologies and outstanding performance. It is the most fitting tribute to Ferruccio Lamborghini in his centenary year – a man who created an exceptional brand, believed that anything was possible and produced extraordinary, iconic cars. The Centenario is a super sports car for Ferruccio Lamborghini and the future he and the company believe in today. Using the V12 architecture, the Centenario’s naturally aspirated engine produces 770 hp and powers from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, and from 0-300 km/h in 23.5 seconds with a top speed of more than 350 km/h.
“We’re excited to continue our long history of working with Lamborghini and to be part of their 100-year anniversary by celebrating the Centenario as the featured cover car of the next Forza game,” said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox. “It’s an honor to announce our partnership at one of the world’s biggest automotive shows, and we look forward to unveiling the game at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.”
“Working with Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios allows us to broadly share the limited-production Centenario with an unprecedented global audience and let them experience the emotion of driving the most powerful Lamborghini ever produced,” said Maurizio Reggiani, board member for research and development of Automobili Lamborghini.
Lamborghini’s legendary vehicles are among the most popular in Forza’s stable with more than five million players spending nearly 60 million hours racing in Lamborghinis. The Lamborghini Centenario will join an already robust roster of 14 unique Lamborghini vehicles featured in the award-winning Forza franchise on the Xbox One. Every Lamborghini is showcased in Forzavista™ detail, meaning that each features working doors and headlights as well as fully drivable cockpits. Forza remains the best-selling racing franchise of the current video game console generation, and more than 10 million unique fans have played Forza games on Xbox One, making it the most played racing franchise on Xbox One.
“Very few automotive designs are as evocative, iconic or recognizable as a Lamborghini. Whether in Forzavista™, on the open road or on a world-famous race-track, our team painstakingly recreates each model with the greatest attention to detail. These cars are truly brought to life using ForzaTech™, Turn 10 Studios’ proprietary, state-of-the-art graphics and physics simulation engine,” said Dan Greenawalt, creative director of Turn 10 Studios. "One of our ongoing missions at Turn 10 Studios is to foster the merging of automotive culture with gaming culture. Between past tournaments with MLG and Gfinity, Forza has a long history with eSports – one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Our upcoming Lamborghini Super Trofeo series gives us the platform to broadly engage both automotive and gaming communities in a new type of motorsport.”
Starting today, Turn 10 Studios and Lamborghini will be giving “Forza Motorsport 6” players of all skill levels the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series experience. In the first season, players will compete in time trial-based “Rivals” events, as well as ranked multiplayer “Leagues” using the 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo. Based on how they place in their division or leaderboard rank in “Rivals,” players will be gifted the exclusive 2015 Huracán Super Trofeo and be invited to participate in the second season of competition, with additional prizes awarded throughout.

Hi I’m confused on the YouTube video it’s says it’s going to be the cover car for the next Forza Mororsport title but the Forza.net article just says the next Forza game. Are they talking about Forza Horizon 3 or Forzamotorsport 7 thanks
Cool but probably Forza Horizon 3, not “motorsport”. I predicted that Turn 10 / Playground games might have a deal made with a manufacturer to have their car as cover car. Turns out it wasn’t the Chiron.
I’m not that impressed by the Chiron to be honest. It’s looks too much like a Veyron with am added hump. I’m sure it’s probably for aero performance. They found a shape that works well and are tweaking it, but it looks too close. Should have just called it Veyron 1.5 or something.
The Centenario on the other hand looks different enough while still keeping their current design ethos, all angles and attack looks! lol
Also, of course they have a deal with a manufacturer to have their car on the front. They’re not gonna have a blank case with just the name. They need a car, and that means a deal. lol
Quite surprised to see that no one is talking about it yet. The video’s title and description both mention Forza Motorsport instead of Forza Horizon as the next entry of the game, which will feature the Centenario as the cover car. Forza Motorsport 7 was announced by Turn 10 and no one noticed!
This is the tile of the video: “Microsoft and Lamborghini Reveal the Lamborghini Centenario as the Next “Forza Motorsport” Cover Car”
This is the description: “Celebrate the legacy of Lamborghini in the Forza Motorsport franchise and look ahead to the Lamborghini Centenario, the cover car of the next chapter in the critically acclaimed Forza racing series. Look for more news at the Xbox E3 media briefing!”
The shirt for the Fan Fest celebration for E3 2016 was just released and it is clearly featuring the Forza Motorsport branding and nothing related to Horizon branding. It is looking more likely that I was correct.
In my opinion, they are doing this for a reason, for a big Horizon 3 reveal. Obviously they are trying to build hype, and they want this to be a big reveal, so by giving away that it was H3 by using the Horizon symbol, if it was, would leak the surprise. Forza Motorsport is the brand, in which Horizon (and Apex) fall under that. If I remember correctly, they did the same thing two years ago with FH3 by not using the Horizon logo until it was annouced. And anyways, almost everyone that I have seen, wants a third Horizon. No one wants FM7, because they wants Turn 10 to take their time with the two year cycle, and no one wants another new game, because most people have what they want with Forza right now: a track-based racer and an open-world racer. If T10 and PGG are smart, they will realize that. But that is besides the point, I personally think that it will be a Horizon 3 announcement, but the promo is just with Forza Motorsport symbols, because that is the overall brand. Also, “game” does not mean “series”, it literally means “game”. Yes it could be a new series, but that isn’t even implied at all.
I don’t think they’d segregate the PC and X1 versions by making it a cover car for a game that only has 63 cars, is Free To Play, and serves as an “entry point” into the future of cross release forza games. I think this will be for Forza Horizon 3, there is absolutely no way they are sneaking an announcement of Forza Motorsport 7 for which I can only presume would be next year…it can’t be, it surely has to be FH3 otherwise if it turns out it’s FM7 coming this year I think we deserve to shout, very very loudly about that potentially terrible scenario. It would be, after spending £82 on the Ultimate Edition only to release FM7 this year with another probably £82 ultimate edition, hell no, i’ve vowed never again after Porsche expansion fiasco.
That couldn’t be possible. Horizon and Motorsport take turns every year, and its been that way since Horizon 1. If it is true, then maybe T10 ran out of ideas for FH3?
you are going to be one disappointed fella if you keep believe FM7 will be shown @ E3
(no doubt its in the making, but in early stages and not ready to be shown)
