This is more of an all around tune. Instead of lapping endlessly on Limerock, I went with some stability over kerbs given the ride height and took it on some tracks to see what it could do. I was pleasantly surprised.

Sonoma GP 1:36.198 #11 US #43 World
Sonoma Short 1:16.039 #2 US #21 World
Catalunya School 0:46.248 #15 US #79 World

Also seems good on Brands Hatch, particularly the rain variant actually. Road Atlanta Club, Rio Mountain, Sonoma Full, Perhaps Alps Club. You get the idea.

I figured some questions people will have:

  • Why -1.0 camber in the front and -2.0 camber in the rear?
A: The car has different suspension geometry for the front and rear. The front gains negative camber on compression and the rear gains positive camber.

  • Why the toe settings?
A: The car has a strange boxy wheelbase and strong snap oversteer. These types of toe settings also mellow out the same handling problems in the Lotus 99’ when you catch the grass or a curb with only one wheel, especially on horizontally unlevel track. It infinitely improved stability. Go and cut (2 wheels now) some serious corners man!

  • Why Accel/Decel the same?
A: You do alot of steady state corners in this car, and as you are on/off the gas it reduces wiggle. The wide wheelbase in the rear seems more sensitive to differential settings and so they are lower than normal.

If any of you guys are able to truly correct the odd oversteer problem the car has I would be forever thankful. For the most part, its significantly improved. But its still possible to be overly aggressive and slide out the front. I was REALLY surprised how strong this tune is on all variants of Sonoma. As soon as you fly over all red on the first turn, brake, and cut in 2 wheels up on the curb you’ll know why :).

I like this tune, got on quite well with it. Had to turn the front toe down to .1 though because I don’t like the front of the car that darty.
