June DLC Clue Thread

Let the games begin. The June DLC thread is upon us, and it’s time for me to come up with a bunch of clues about a bunch of awesome cars that will soon be available to Forza Motorsport 5 fans, When I say soon I am talking about this Friday. An early release of what many will com to know as the best pack yet, at least in my opinion. Hmmm, I wonder why they are releasing the DLC pack early?

Here are the rules: Johniwanna will post clues of the car in the June DLC pack, five today and five tomorrow. You all get one guess at each car, but you may edit your post. I will send gifts to some of those who guess correctly and to keep it interesting I will gift some interesting, but wrong guesses.

Clues today will go up around 1pm, 5pm. Tomorrow’s clues will go up around 10 am, and I will put the last clues up around 1pm. all Pacific time.

A few notes. This is not a wish list thread, this is not a gripe thread, this is a clue thread, and it’s for fun. So let’s have fun. Cool? Cool!

On to the clues.

Clue 1 car 1:

Faster than a Lamborghini Gallardo on the drag strip.

Clue 2 car 2:

At the time this may have been the most beautiful thing on wheels.

Clue 3 car 3:

Just ask Matt Farah, there’s not a better car out there.

Clue 4 car 4:
David Brabham would be proud of this little guy.

Clue 5 car 5:

Having your own identity is key to being appreciated by others.

  1. 1949 Pontiac Eight

1: Tesla Model S - Fits with the clue about beating the Lamborghini in silence, seems a bit too simple. I feel like I am missing something.

2: Pontiac Solstice - A couple of people have mentioned that Shadax is from a game called Solstice and that is better than anything else I can come up with.

3: DeLorean DMC-12 - I don’t really follow Matt Farah, so I’m just going with the general consensus.

4: Cooper T51 - I was reading about Jack Brabham and saw that he worked for Cooper Car Company and thought it might be a reference to the Mini Cooper, but we already have that in FM5, so I’m not sure where to go from that.

5: Volkswagen Beetle (A5) - The Buzz-buzz clue made me think of Bumblebee, who was originally a Beetle. Going back to the first clue about having your own identity, that might refer to the new Beetle have a significantly changed look, which was done to distance itself from the Volkswagon New Beetle.

6: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI - They added a wedge to the front for aerodynamics. One of my favorites from Forza 4, so I’m hoping it will make it’s return

7: Corvette C7 - Between the clue that this is going to be known as the best pack ever, this being the 7th clue, and the stingray being a cartilaginous animal, this is either very straightforward or I (And most everyone else) am completely off base.

8: Chaparral 2J - Fans were used to generate a huge amount of downforce, and I was surprised last time that they included the 2F without the 2J, because the 2J is the much more famous car.

9: Saleen S5S Raptor - I would guess that refers to some sort of Saleen, and we already have the S7, though it could be one of their other models.

10: Fiat 131 Abarth - I can’t seem to find a more exact time when it was posted other than 6 hours ago, but the Fiat 131 seems like a solid choice.

Overall, had a lot of fun guessing these, and even if a couple of them are right it should be a great car pack.

  1. 1967 STP-Paxton Turbocar - OK, I give up. Is it fast on a drag strip? No idea. Is it quiet? It certainly seems unlikely. But it has STP for initials, so it’s at least one step ahead of anything else I can come up with.

  2. 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP - There’s a game called Solstice where you play as a wizard named Shadax…

  3. 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S - I know, I know, it’s a long shot, but he did say that many would come to know it as the best pack ever, and I know a lot of people would love this. Anyway, Farah heaped a lot of praise on it in a recent video on his website, calling it “perfect to the point of obsession”.

  4. 1960 Cooper Monaco - Jack Brabham was racing cars that John Cooper was designing in the 50s, which lead to rear engine mountings taking over at Formula 1. I don’t know if any Monacos were ever built specifically as road cars, but I have seen some that would appear to be as streetable as a lot of other old race cars. And maybe they did build a few road cars. I don’t know…

  5. 1996 Mazda (Eunos) Cosmo -Though the Cosmo rotary engine cars had been rolling along as Mazdas for 20 years, the final generation were sold under the short-lived luxury brand Eunos.

  6. 1967 De Tomaso Mangusta - One of the earliest wedge cars, and definitely one of the coolest.

  7. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - A cartilaginous fish for a name, the seventh clue, the seventh generation, this practically writes itself.

  8. 1996 Alfa Romeo GTV - I don’t know about being a “monster”, but the GTV had incredible skid pad values for a production car that stand up impressively even today.

  9. 1973 Opel Ascona A - Stephens Motor Sport is apparently a Belgian historic rally team that races 4 Opel Asconas…

  10. 1971 Fiat 130 Coupe - John is in Pacific Time, isn’t he?
