July #ForzaMonthly & content update

So they never really made FM7 any better, that’s it now dead in the water.
All that hope for simple changes to make multiplayer better, they have just used it as a training ground for the next gen programmers.
I’ll give them this though, they sure know how to pay staff to pad out a live stream month after month. At least playground add more content and make more changes in reaction to “the community”, and come across as more involved.
FM7 and Turn10 are just too corporate to adapt anymore, do they really think rich blokes like mechberg and johnwanawana whatever, with their massive salaries and cars are actually down with the kids and connecting?
Forza is just a guaranteed cash cow now to just bundle with every xbox sold, they don’t have to try anymore.
Never though I would say this but I wont bust a gut to play 8, they just don’t have the track record anymore especially with new hardware.

I really do have the feeling that the Motorsport series is on its last legs. For the two years that this game has been out, we still have bugs from day 1 that were never fixed, lagging and lobby disconnects that happen way too frequently, and stuttering menu screens that have only gotten more choppy with every update. The content we got was sometimes good, but mostly either bad or completely nonsensical, and we never even got ONE NEW TRACK.

I’m left with the bitter taste of FM5 in my mouth. The game as a whole was rushed to production and then largely left ignored by the T10 team. They never seemed to care much for the game and every update they added felt like they threw it together at the lest second and barely gave it a second thought. Not even close to the level of dedication the Horizon series gets.

We’ve been continuously disappointed for the last 3 games. I don’t think we’ll be able to handle being disappointed a fourth time. FM8 will make or break the series for good.

That’s because Horizon is whats bringing in the money now. Motorsport has been relegated to selling dlc packs filled with cars meant for Horizon. I don’t know where theyre going to go from here tbh, motorsport has a lot more competition than horizon does and im sure turn 10 has found it difficult to secure tracks and cars as other companies have been snatching them up over the past few years.

I think they spent a lot of their budget as well as hopes on esports, which didnt pan out too well. The fact is, no matter what they want to portray, forza motorsport is not seen in the same way as their competition to players or to racing affiliated companies. Throwing money at these partnerships couldnt change the shortcomings this series has had for quite some time now which is why players have left and these partnerships have dried up.

Funnily enough I feel much the same about FH4 - shipped with a huge number of problems that seem like they’re never going to get fixed. Month after month goes by with updates that, from my point of view at least, have actively made the game worse, while never fixing all the things I’d like to see fixed. And then you’ve got the move to hide criticism by making people submit feedback to a ticket system where it’s hidden, and where issues are marked as resolved as soon as they’ve thanked you for your feedback, rather than them actually being resolved. And much communication has been moved away from the forum to discord where it can’t be seen. It has all left a huge negative impression on me, and I can’t see myself buying the next generation Xbox hardware as a result.

I don’t feel quite as negatively about FM7 as I do about FH4. I’m not sure at what point they would have known exactly what GTS was going to bring to the table, but I’m pretty sure it would have been too late to do anything about it. Even when the collision penalties are added to FM7, it won’t come close to providing the competitive structure that GTS does. But at least FM7 doesn’t have the cynical time-window locking of cars that FH4 has. It did at first, but credit to T10, they fixed it. You cannot have a serious e-sports game where players don’t have equal access to equipment, so that immediately rules Horizon out of consideration for me, as they show no sign of changing that aspect. I was fooled into thinking FH4 could be a serious e-sports game due to it having a good ranking system, but I see now that it was just coincidental, and not really part of a coherent strategy for the game. I think FM8 COULD be a good game, if they are willing to spend a significant chunk of time playing GTS and understanding how all its elements combine to provide the overall structure so they don’t make the mistake of creating something superficially similar that totally misses the point of some elements. But I have no hope for any future installments of Horizon.

I do commend T10 for the forthcoming collision penalty that attempts to determine blame. It’s an aspect of GTS that attracts a lot of criticism, so I think it can only be a good thing to have both franchises competing with each other to do the best job of correctly assigning blame for collisions.

Speaking of the IMSA partnership, I really felt like it could have been explored much more. We still don’t have a single DPi in the game, which seemed confusing to me. I’d love to see them partner with IMSA/WEC and really make the most of it by featuring almost the entire lineup of cars on the roster.

I really hope the focus on FM8 is much better than 7. It felt as if FM7 was rushed to the scene. I really like the idea of keeping up to date with current series cars and new cars coming out. The packs in FM4 were something that made the series shine.

Was hoping to see a bit more done with FM7, but not surprised support is ending soon.

I really do hope they learn from this and make sure FM8 is a great game on launch.

And FM7 will remain a failure. Good thing I didn’t wait for this game to improve, since it never happened.

Once Forza 7 is officially abandoned by Turn 10, we should then start coming across more info and perhaps screen shots of Forza eight.

Two years without new tracks, no expansions, no custom championships (like single player option on FH series), no home space (only the garage).
Why exist te forum topics for tracks and cars we wish? They don’t use it.

How long before the update arrives? I need to test those useless penalties for crashers

What useless penalties? Disqualification should come in August.

Pretty sure it’s only coming to the FRR beta lobby, not class hoppers. That’s why it’s useless.
FM8 won’t come out anytime soon so…another 1/1,5 year of injustice.

Wdym injustice lol, the game received around 7 to 8 months more post game development time than any Forza title ever has.

People are taking the news of development being cut like a complete shock to the system. How did no one see this coming?

I’m hoping Forza Motorsport 8 doesn’t come out for a long time. At least 2 years is needed, preferably 3.

I mean exactly what I wrote. Injustice. Crashers will keep crashing (and cutting) in R/S/A/B/C/D class hoppers for another year and half and they won’t be penalized. They won’t be suspended. They won’t be banned. Except the 0,1% who are caught in the act by whoever is monitoring the lobby/replay.

I’m already tired of the FRR hopper, where you’re forced to drive undriveable cars with no setups.

That’s if FRR stays in it’s own select hopper. No one knows if it will by August or not. It could roll out to all hoppers. We’ll have to wait and see for confirmation.

The content update would typically be available now (10am Pacific) but the release time may be later in the day or vary from user to user.

Forza Motorsport 7 July 2019 Update

I wont be buying FM8 or whatever they decide to call it. Turn10 completely failed on this generation of consoles with FM7 being worst of all.

I think I heard in the livestream that FRR rules won’t be applied to class hoppers or others, when the last update will drop in august.

At this point do you really see it happening? I don’t. It’s all in beta and they’ll keep collecting feedback for FM8.

Why do I see vids of online racing where there aren"t any anticut tire walls, yet they are still there in Free Play?

I don’t know man. FM7 is not a perfect game, not by a long shot but it’s easily the strongest of this generation and in terms of on track wheel based racing it is the best. Seems like everyone here has their own personal vision of the perfect racing game and when FM7 didn’t deliver on that, they consider it a failure. The entitlement blows my mind. When the next game comes out don’t blindly preorder your ultimate edition and then complain later. Wait to see what the game is like and if you want to purchase. FM7 is the only ever preordered and only cuz I got a deal.
