It doesn't pay to tune cars in consideration of others LOL

I spend quite a bit of time tuning my cars and hotlapping then tweak and repeat until I get a good result. Past month or so I have done this more than racing and usually add an AI car to keep my CR rolling in to buy the parts. This time it was the Ford GT FE and I use no assists manual with clutch and H shifter. I do not know how many laps in total I did but it was a lot of them an I was creeping nicely up the Hardcore Leaderboard and it was getting to the point I was within a wafer of beating my time but would fall short. ie. 045 or even 100th. I was happy with the time and thought okay this tune is good to share and started to ponder what my tunes are like for others using assists so I switched to Automatic as a starting point and run 8 laps. Unfortunately, it was better than expected Auto and I beat my time by about 400-500th and it wiped me off the hardcore board which is crazy since it is either a time set without assists or it is not so IMO it shouldn’t have happened.

My advice is don’t do it or you will be sorry. Wouldn’t be so bad but I think I was really on the threshold with my set time and may never see it again. Plus it looks like I have to beat my Auto time to get back on the board by the look of it :frowning:

Manual IS faster than auto (using clutch or not can vary for faster cars). It looks to me you should practice some more on your shifting skills if you are faster when you use auto.

Don’t know Braindead I have managed many in the top 10 and even 1 on the hardcore boards although there is always room for improvement and the reason why I do it. My point is if it takes all assists off to rate on the HC board wouldn’t it be natural all things being equal that to alter that achievement would only be to do better with all assists off?

Would be nice if it did work that way but only your fastest time for any track is listed reglardes of Assists use or not used could be why so many players just dont bother with racing Hard Core Although I have noticed that may do claim to race hard core funny how there names are not on the Hard Core leader boards. And using a H shifter with clutch on a wheel will be slower than Auto on some cars and tracks than using a Controller set for manual with clutch where you just have to Mash the A and B or A and X together at the same time to change gear.

This. Ive ran laps in manual but shifting right on the redline like auto does and ran laps shifting after redline but before the limiter and im consistently faster in manual, not to mention much better control going into turns via forced engine braking and being able to stick to one gear right through to corner exit,

Always thought I was faster with the manual shifter too until today upset the applecart but the last outing I was only 040 behind my auto time so I will nab it next round for sure.

@ BD I think the Ford GT has Auto clutch and Sequent shift so using a clutch with H shift will be slower than using Sequenchel only

@Luna when Driving the GT ford Chage to Manual No Clutch and Put the Sequenchel adaptor the Black one that came with your shifter in for gear changes should speed things up nicly for you. Also to stay in the Hard core Leader boards as you are using a Wheel set game for Hard Core settings and Press the A button and Mode Button on the Wheel at same time for about 5 seconds, then release the light should now be blinking this puts you in to Auto Clutch mode for gear changes. A lot of super cars do not have a manual clutch but use a dual auto clutch.

When the Fanatec wheel gets here next week I will grab another TH8A shifter and set it up for the sequential shift to save stuffing around changing out the one I got now. I would use the paddles but I find them a pain in the butt tbh. They keep moving with the wheel and I keep messing up my shifting

How does one acquire the Ford GT FE?

Complete the Elite Forza Drivers’ Cup Series.

That shows the Acura NSX FE as the prize.

ALL of the Cups in Elite mode.

Got it. Thanks.

Yup you need to complete every race series in the career including the elite ones and you’ll unlock it or you can find one on the auction house. Doubt many are selling there’s though but I got rid of mine for 5 million as I didn’t use it and wanted other cars.

On topic with the thread I don’t really understand what the OP is getting at by it doesn’t pay to tune cars. It sounds more like a personal issue with the need for assists over something actually tuning related.

Funny thing is it literally does pay to tune cars if you share the tunes lol

I do share tunes but I am talking about testing the tunes to consider others that use assists. I do all my tunes with all assists off and when I got the game I downloaded a few tunes or purchased a car at the AH only to find the cars were undrivable or handling was worse than stock which from my own experience takes some handy work to manage that. Got me thinking there is no way anyone would upload this tune unless they are using a controller as opposed to a wheel or vice versa so I stopped downloading and stick to my own. I was setting some good times on the leaderboard and was about 10 seconds behind the leader so I grabbed the tune and because it was in the hardcore section it is more than likely tuned with assists off. It was a good tune so I tried another and same result. So I am thinking it works backward tuning a car with all assists off should give everyone a usable tune regardless of what assist they use. Tuning a car with any car affecting assists on is a lottery for no assist users.

Never dreamed I would kick my own butt on Auto and knock myself off the HC leaderboard but when I share the GTFE tune in the next day I will mention ‘Good for Auto and Manual’
