Is this burnout? sure feels like it!

Sometimes i have been fast enough, but the second round was someone waiting for me and hit me very hard with his pick up.
Most of the online races are demolition derbys.
I hope that this is getting over some day.

I don’t race online yet. Even though I am top 10% or better on every rival I have done (yes I realize that isn’t amazingly great) But the reason I don’t is I don’t want to mess anyone up and risk working someone off the track or out of position so I practice and some day I will.

I used to race online on the need for speed but when I hit someone I’d pull over and let the guy pass me especially in races that only had a handful of people. On occasion that just ended up confusing people though. And then anyone I hit I would text after the ace and apologize.

I think I may have gone a bit overboard

I’m finding the career mode with drivatars feels like good online racing as it is. Not actually been online for a while as a result!

Sorry to hear that.

Only been online in the hoppers myself a few times, but my experience has been very different. Delighted and surprised to find both friendly and chatty folks each time i join. Sure we had a few rammers join and do what rammers do. But when your with good people, they can either be avoided through a little skill and defensive driving. Warn others in the room of their antics, simply knowing who the rammer is will allow you and others to side step them and watch as they pile into the grass.

My advice for online.
+Dont expect to win every race.
+You dont need to lead, you can have some of your best races, swaping positions, further down the pack.
+Use your mic, see who bites…make friends.

I guess I’ll chime in with my 2 cents. I don’t think this feels anywhere near like Burnout. You have to think, most people are getting this game because it looks great and it’s a launch day racing game. The graphics and physics are superior to anything Burnout would ever do, but as for online play, it all just depends on what lobby you get put into. For me, I really haven’t been in too many “bad” lobbies. That isn’t to say there wasn’t the occasional racer that didn’t know what the brakes were for, but you get that in racing games unless it’s a pure sim racer like iRacing. We have to remember this is still a console game and a lot more “inexperienced” racers play it.

We do need custom public lobbies back for a good reason, but until then, just pray you get into a good lobby with people who know how to race and when you come across those that don’t, block them.

not sure if any one can help but am currenly having trouble joining multiplayer and was wondering if any one else is having trouble and where i should go to find help to sort this out .It is just sitting there waiting for match ?

i do miss the physics of Forza 4. Visually, Forza 5 KILLED it, but the overall feel is just off to me. Maybe it will just take some getting used to, as Forza 4 did, but in my opinion i wouldnt have messed with the driving physics. on Forza 4 I did all of my career races with everything on simulation settings and did my online drifting the same with only steering changed to normal. Now on Forza 5 i cant even touch simulation steering without being sent into a frenzy of spins in any FWD car. don’t get me wrong i do enjoy the game, and though i have only had it for a week now, i just wanted to see if i am the only one on here that feels the way i do on this topic.

I had this same problem. I couldn’t play FM5’s multiplayer without becoming extremely frustrated by drivers that only want to ram other people and not race clean.

Then I remembered that it’s just a game and it doesn’t really matter.

So what did you do, carry on playing bumper cars on F5 & not let it bother you or just pack in multiplayer & stick to single player?
Personally it’d matter to me if i couldn’t use a large portion of the game because there’s no way to report the current batch of idiots, that’d matter quite a bit for the money i’ve laid out for this next gen experience. The game is currently full of unfixed bugs already (although we’ll see what this “even bigger” DLC contains for Feb, hopefully a lot of fixes & missing features included) & shoddy search functions that WE have to do workarounds for in the meantime if possible, so not being able to hop on for an hour or 2 when i can like i used to on the last game & get a clean lobby, is just another thing that made me go back to the 360 & Forza 4…the lobbies are still full & even better it seems any remaining rammers got an XBox One for xmas & now annoy the 5er’s instead knowing they are free from the excellent Crash Team that was available previously.
5 is a great painting & photography game for me now personally but it cant hold a candle to 4’s features & online gameplay. Fancy graphics & new physics just weren’t enough to keep me going & thats a 1st for any Forza since the franchise appeared on the original Xbox.

Some people may just never be quick enough to avoid the riff raff or maybe they just want to drive a certain car because they love it, they no it will not be competitive enough to win but they just want to see what they can do in it…are these people not entitled to a clean race?YES they are. Turn 10 sort it out. This problem is nothing new in all Forza games and yet still Turn 10 has not implemented a way to deal with dirty drivers like many other games can and have done already in various ways. Not everyone has a load of friends to fill up their own lobby, it just seems to me at every turn Turn 10 has made it much harder to evict these dirty drivers from the game, players can’t even see if there is a vote going on to evict a problem driver from the lobby which used to be in previous Forza games, then we have wall riders…Is Forza Motorsport turning into a Burnout style game with amazing physics? I hope not. Turn 10 sort it out.

Forza 5 needs a system to deal with these dirty drivers…maybe add time for each tap of someone else’s car with a velocity greater than blah blah which causes them to leave the track and then continued dangerous driving leads to automatic kicking like in many games such as Battlefield for excessive team killing. Turn 10 needs to take it out of peoples hands and automate the process because it is leading to many unnecessary arguments. Turn 10 obviously needs to separate completely in every way that these types of drivers are simply not wanted in race modes, they have tag modes for that.

There are no excuses or reasons. Turn 10 sort it out.

all this “bad drivers” reminds me of playing League of Legends… those “bad players”

Yeah its annoying and I agree with what other people have been saying. If they are just ignorant drivers then you should just block them and if they are just there to wreck people off the road then just report them or threaten to…usually scares them off fast.

There is no ranking system anymore on Forza, doesn’t really matter what place you finish as long as you enjoy a nice competitive race. So just relax, go with the flow.

dont threaten, it doesnt work, if they just want to wreck people they want to provoke your reaction, if you react to it, they have achieved what they wanted
I tried to warn them a couple of times in the past with the previous iterations, and it didnt work, they will even pick you for the rest of the races, and tell you that they wont get banned anyway
in Horizon I even had the problem that a guy called his friends, teammates and they kept ramming me because I warned them, they had my message so every time I was on in the following days they joined my lobby, these pathetic fools could still not win, so after a couple of days they gave it up, when I just ignored them, trust me warning and threatening does not work

…not to mention that it’s against the Xbox Live COC:

•If you encounter an obnoxious player:
◦Do not retaliate. If you act out, it could be considered harassment.

Threaten probably wasn’t the best word to describe it then. I usually state out loud that they are being reported for doing such and such. If anything it is a heads up. I don’t say something like "if you don’t leave I will report!! I usually just say that I am.

Whether you do or not is a different story.

You’re better off not saying anything.

Online is more like the Wacky Races cartoon show.
