Is there going to be any competitions for racing with the US and UK?

Hey guys, I’m from the Uk and looking to get into racing competitively. I got into the France competition but Iv just been told I can’t join because I don’t speak french.

Is there any comps coming up in the UK and US?

Thanks

Who told you you can’t join because you don’t speak French? Registration was open to everyone.

Kind of goes without saying that you have to speak French to participate in a FRENCH competition.

guys, you only have to learn a few words in french to compete,

" garçon que vous êtes lent",

that should cover it.

Had to Google that one. Thanks for laugh.

Usually for me, it’s “garçon, je suis lent”

Edit: Repeat post.

Sorry but that’s just c%^p!

It’s posted within the game as an open competition and consequently people from all over the world have registered - French speaking or not.

Yes of course it’s going to help if you speak/read/write French but it’s NOT a pre requisite of joining in with the competition.

First round is tonight and I’m signed up and ready to race!

Yes, it’s open worldwide which is why the rivals event for qualification didn’t have any location restrictions. Obviously the website is in French, but website translators seem to do a pretty good job in making it pretty readable and easy to understand.

I don’t know if you’re looking for Turn10 specific competitions, but if you want to join some kind of league the best place to find it would be here…

From what I’ve been able to read on the FM.fr forums, the reason this was opened up worldwide this year was to allow French speaking Canadians and residents of other countries to participate. But the rules (which I still have trouble finding, but see quoted now and then in the forums) seem to state that French communication is a requirement. They set themselves up for trouble here because the qualification was run through rivals, just like the ALMS Challenge was last year with no language requirement. They could have provided some clarification on the landing page, registration page, or calendar of events. I anticipate crabbing from the French players about Americans who can’t communicate, and maybe some complaints from American players if they get disqualified for not being able to do so.

I thought you meant UK vs US competitions when I saw the title . . . . but yeah, I’m sure we’ll see more competitions yet.

I’m hoping for a return of King Of The Track . . .
