Is there a way to stay in a track and change cars?

I like comparing various car setups with each other but I can’t seem to find a way to change to another car when I’m at the race screen (with a race location already loaded). Even with free play where I would have expected this to be possible, you still first need to exit the location before you can change to another car. It’s really annoying always having to deal with the long loading times of the same track which I didn’t want to leave in the first place, only change the car.

So, is there a way to stay in a track and change cars? And how was this in previous Forza games?

Easy answer NO, although you can load separate tunes, as long as on same car.

Wouldn’t wait on it, has never been an option if I recall correctly.

Not as far as I can remember, not a bug, not a problem, nothing to fix.

I have the same issue as the op and the only thing I can do is quit free play and enter it and the track and laps and car are the same so you just need to change car but I think It takes as long.
