I would like to mute all microphones so i dont hear anyone chatting while racing. I can mute chatty people one by one but every online session requires muting a bunch of people, there must be a way to mute all without turning off sound completely…
Some of the players i have had to mute have been snoring, thats happened several times, a kid throwing a tantrum for 30 mins because he had to stop playing and go to bed, some guy whose wife got all seductive to draw his attention away from xbox - she did succeed but he should not have broadcast the next 6 mins.
Yup, that’s the easy way to do it. A one-person party with no activity seems to last for about three hours before clsoing itself, and you get perfect peace
There is a privacy setting in the main Xbox settings. Can’t remember exactly, but it’s there and it worked for me. I had enough when a kid just kept burping into his mic over and over.
I had someone complaining last night during the online part of the Forzathon challenge telling me to shut off my mic from my headset. Weird thing was it wasn’t even plugged in yet it appeared that I was talking on the screen. There was another guy in the room who had an open mic of some kind and you could hear muffled sounds coming from his mic and the sound of his wheelspin. I knew it wasn’t me because the actual TV sound of mine was completely off. I’m not sure why we don’t have the option if we so chose to go down the list and mute particular users either because their mic is static-ing or they are disruptive in game. The guy who made the comment actually tried ramming me off the road in the first two races before realizing it was the other guy and not doing so on the last race where I placed 2nd.
One time I was playing the playground games for a forzathon, and there was this 7-9 year old on there and eventually I heard his mom say something like “I told you no video games!” and sure enough, he left the session.
It’s quite simple actually. While in lobby A select the name and OK to Show Gamecard , then select Mute, it will toggle to Unmute. When you mute from the gamecard the mute is at the person level and should remain that way until it’s systematically reset to Mute.
You could try xbox settings. Settings>account>privacy and online safety>xbox live privacy>view details and customise>communication & multiplayer>others can communicate with voice, text, or invites. Mine is set to block and I don’t hear any voices. Not sure if that is what you’re looking for, but might be worth trying.
What I hate is the only time you can mute someone is while you’re in the drivers seat either on a Destination run or a race. Why you can’t mute them in between all that (like FH1) is beyond me. Pretty sure my Xbox 1s is smart enough to load a game and mute someone at the same time.
Obnoxious players - those who like to screen, yell at other players, play music at a high volume, etc., can be handled or reported to Xbox Live and the Policy Enforcement Team (they are in charge of behavior in any game on Xbox Live, as described here:
Those reports include: Voice communication: The player used inappropriate, abusive, or threatening language in voice communications. Unsporting behavior: The player didn’t show good sportsmanship.
The PET folks have the special ability to join and observe/hear those reported, and for the ones too aggressive in their behavior, they’ll ban not just from the individual game itself, but Xbox Live.
Just go to your privacy settings and put it to “voice chat: friends” instead of “voice chat: everybody”. You will then only be able to hear people that are on your friend list.
