[INVESTIGATING] Draw Distance (PC 1080p)

Now i have played the full version some hours and draw distance is not good, you see it clearly at race with the hovercraft…really ugly.
…i thought a game at this time has better graphics like a 2 year old Forza Horizon 3, but if you not played Forza Horizon 3 you should spare your money for version 4 and buy 3. :wink:

It looks a lot better than 3. And 3 has the same pop-in issue.

Bought fh3, but this no, no excuse in 2018 to have such disaster drawing distance

Can you talk like a normal person? The lighting is much better than 3, the vegetation and foliage up close is WAY better, the textures are improved and especially the city is a huge improvement compared to 3.

Yes it has meh draw distance just like 3, but so do a bunch of other games such as the Assassin’s Creed games for example. Also let’s not forget that the geometry setting is bugged at the moment as DigitalFoundry confirmed.

Kidding me? Are you comparing Assassin creed origins graphics to this? Turn10 studio needs 100 years to make a game like ac origin in terms of graphics and physics. It has no drawing distance issue.
This game is poor is graphics because the game engine is made for consoles where consoles are not able to do calculations like high end PC CPU and GPU.
drawing distance is crap means the hole graphics is crap and it will not be fixed.

Uhmmm yes, it absolutely has, Assassin’s Creed games don’t even have an option for Ansitropic Filtering, and always have terrible LoD, especially noticable in Assassin’s Creed Unity.


Also, since you talked about Witcher 3 as well, YOU CANT DRIVE AROUND AT 300MPH IN THE WITCHER 3 OR ASSASSINS CREED. And The Witcher 3s draw distance isn’t the greatest either unless you mod it.

If you think FH4 looks worse than FH3 just because of one setting then you really need your eyes tested. Yes, draw distance is broken in FH4 and it’s obvious, but apart from that, it is clear that on every other level FH4 is a better looking game than FH3. The textures, polygon count on the car models, the lighting model and the actual art design of the world and the added challenge of implementing a realistic change between every season for the in-game assets in terms of textures and the world’s lighting and weather model. Not to mention FH3 still had bad pop in and the shadow LoD was a lot worse compared to FH4.

People like you shouldn’t be allowed to post on this thread with your nonsense, all you’re doing is just cluttering this thread making it harder for devs to go through this and get any more info/details to help fix the problem.

Easy boy, when i have a pc and play games, you didn’t born yet.
looks for example at the witcher 3 at ultra drawing distance than talk moron.
This game has a crap engine, because it is not able to draw objects at high distance and takes advantage of high end cpu or gpu. Because ot is made for console and not for pc

Have found the textures of trees in the distance to be quite low quality? Hoping there is a fix or something for this. Unsure if the Static Geometry Quality setting even changes anything. Beyond that the game looks great.

Edit: Not sure if this is just how the game is designed, but even with Dynamic Object Geometry on Extreme I am noticing a lot of pop-in and can even see the hedges load in as I drive along the road.

DigitalFoundry said the Geometry option doesn’t do anything whether you set it to Low or Extreme. Hoping the devs fix it.

this is getting pretty absurd by now, the game releases tomorrow and the issue still hasn’t been fixed, like really devs?

To my huge surprise, today’s patch didn’t fix ANYTHING reported in this thread /sarcasm. But it’s not like the patch fixed anything for me, the game still crashes like crazy, too…

well according to the video, basically almost none of the settings change anything lol, like there is no difference between low and extreme… what the hell

so is it still not fixed in the full game?

how is this still not in the known issues list

Yeah, exactly what im thinking. Its ridiculous…

if this is not fixed on the next major update im going to lose my mind :d

Don’t expect much of an upgrade though IF they ever fix it. I watched some gameplay videos of the Xbox X version and it has the same kind of pop-in, I’m assuming it runs on Ultra/High settings, so on PC with the Extreme setting it might increase LoD by 20 metres at best considering all the other “Extreme” settings only have minor differences as well.
