Indycar, Nascar

Will the new forza motorsport have indycar and nascar in the future updates? Alongside some speedways tracks added?

Indycar and Nascar cars can be a problem with licensing, I will not get into that.

As for speedways, be sure to vote on the tracks you’d like to see added in future updates!

If they ever do, hopefully this time they can manage to just give us a few blanks rather than bloating the car count with a bunch of cars that are essentially the same car with a different paint job.

Thanks for responding, didn’t think of the licensing since they have them in fm7. No guarantee for future ofcourse.

Just hope to get indycar in the game, loved driving those in fm7.

I didn’t ever race either in past Forza games (at least not more than once) so I probably won’t use the cars, but I would like to see them added and know they are there. Definitely the same goes for F1. did some F1 races in FM7 before launch and after getting used to how they drive, had a lot of fun with them.

I’m pretty sure the company behind iRacing has just bought the rights to Nascar to make a new game. Whether or not it’s exclusive i don’t know but i wouldn’t be surprised if it is.

I found this in the game… I know Dallara DW12 is not in the game but the clue is, we’re kinda likely to see Indycar return to Forza Motorsport now that Indycar is giving up the Motorsport Games license.

That’s only a contract issue my friend.
And that contract issue can come with advertisement and let’s be honest it’s Microsoft who can pull the advertisement card with NASCAR in negotiations.
Lack Budget isn’t a problem to Forza Motorsport.

Everyone needs to give them time and allow the law of process to take place

I’m certain Forza wants a deal with NASCAR
It brings so many fans :joy:

Hopefully the game is fixed before they try lure in the Nascar fans.
I am sure some of them are no where near as polite as I am. I’ve even been trying to tone it down.
If the game is anywhere near as terrible as it is now, NASCAR fans will make their wrath be felt.

Doubt the France family is going to let anyone lock up an exclusive deal unless it’s more money than any game studio is possibly worth. And considering Forza had Daytona (a France family enterprise) and few NASCAR cars, it’s likely we’ll see them make a return.

Unless all the negative reviews of FM8 starts driving future licensees away.

This would be amazing !

Update: Indycar gave up the Motorsport Games license!

They pretty much lost all their game licenses including nascar one, but they kept WEC one and i think thats why there is no new WEC cars in motorsport.

This is true, but I’m fairly certain that the license that exists between Motorsport Games and the WEC is not exclusive. For example, Automobilista 2 just recently released Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans 24h circuit) as well as a number of endurance cars including the Porsche 963 and others.

I don’t specifically recall seeing any WEC branding along with it though, so it may be a case that the content was made available through agreements with other entities, such as IMSA, in which the 963 also participates. If this is the case, then there should be no reason why T10 can’t do something similar with FM. In fact they likely already have, given the presence of LMdH and GT3 cars already in the game.

Regarding OP’s question about Nascar or Indy coming to FM, that seems unlikely at the moment, as iRacing now holds the rights to both series.

One interesting thing to note is that the Nascar license is specifically for console racing games. Whether this means that iRacing themselves have plans to develop and release a Nascar game for consoles, or that they plan to use that license to have other developers pay them to have Nascar content in their games, I’m not sure.

The Circuit des 24 heures du Mans is owned by Automobile Club de l’Ouest. ACO also owns and organises the 24 heures itself.
Cars are owned by their manufacturers.
The WEC owns is its own branding and not much more.

Ah right, fair enough. That being the case, then i suppose that means that by going through the car manufacturers, it may be possible for FM to include something like, for example, the “#10 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford” as long as there’s no specific mentioning of the Nascar name. (I think this may be how they’ve gotten Nascar cars into previous versions of FM, unless I’m mistaken?)

Possible, unless there is some sort of exclusive provision in the license between Nascar and iRacing which would prevent manufacturers from allowing team names or car likenesses/ liveries etc. from appearing in anything other than an iRacing-developed and approved game.

I don’t imagine that would be the case, but I suppose anything is possible when it comes to contracts.

heck I even want the oldies we need a old pontiac to go with the 57 and or 55 chevies and a 57 ford and start nascar at its beginning roots and I love painting those things :}

They’ve got Homestead and Daytona. So getting NASCAR licensing for other tracks shouldn’t be a problem. I’d love to see Richmond or Bristol replace that Eagle junk track and have Pocono added in just because it’s a weird track.
