[INCREASED] Garage/Paintjob/Tune Cap (1000 vehicles | 500 paintjobs/tunes)

Has there been any talk from the devs about the design catalog limit which currently is at 300?

If you own more than 300 cars you can’t paint all of them, by the looks of it.

And that issue will just become more and more noticeable as new DLC’s come.

Well you can paint all of them when using auction house work araound, but i think they also raise design limit while raising garage limit.

Host in stream say that this change is allready done but they need test it before release, can jonk1969 tell us what are gonna be new limits or do we have to wait?

Excluding Pre-Order variants from the game, I am pretty sure I have all but 2 cars (Ford Capri FE & 1993 SVT Cobra) and I am sitting around 470 cars in my garage (all duplicates with exception of my Pre-Order McLaren 670 are in the auction house). I have noticed some newly listed cars not in the game (yet) while creating custom blueprint races… 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi, 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, KTM CrossBow? (FM7) and an alternate Taxi. I am sure more Hot Wheels cars will eventually appear beyond the Twin Mill and Bone Shaker as well as cars from FM7.

I am all for extra garage space as long as it doesn’t cancel out the future plan for paintable calipers and more possible stripe/subsection options, but I would REALLY like to have more than double the amount of livery space compared to to the garage space, same goes for tunes… At worst, 1.5 times as many liveries & tunes to the garage limit, while making the garage limit only 10% more than the total amount of unique vehicles available. I can live with less leeway on garage space if I am able to collect at least one of every vehicle because it is easy enough to switch tunes/liveries to the race setup I want to run.

Was 6 cars away from having every car in Forza Motorsport 7 before the newer Forza Edition cars were added, but now that Horizon 4 is out, I only go back to FM7 for driver suits and to collect Tier 10 rewards.

Also wish there was an easier sort for Liveries (both my own as well as the search for friends/followed artists)… sitting at 290 liveries right now, and the temptation to update wheels on many is strong, but daunting :frowning:

Allow those with a One Drive account more space for Photos… kinda feel it’s harder to level up photo level in FH4 than previous games… I have taken at least 1 photo of every car in my garage (~470) with many scenic pics of my favorites, stats only count the 52 shared of which I can not add any more :frowning:

Love the game but hate some of the QoL issues…

why in a game that has only been out a very short time am I not able to open wheelspins because my garage is full , OK sell the cars BUT nobody wants the mostly old landies or small cheap fords or any of the low rarity cars that populate the wheelspin system , So remove them from garage , BUT what happens to the removed cars they should have a scrappage scheme so that the player gets some kind of return for the masses of cars being dumped from players garages , And are they expanding the garage for each set of new cars released or have we to decide which cars we want to keep , It all seem’s a little badly planned and very hope for the best kind of setup I’ve become used to from microsoft

If you would watch in front page of this discussion section you would notice that there is allready topic abaout this and just by reading last page of that thread you would learn that they have allready made changes so we have more garage space, they just need to test it before releasing to us so that dont break our saves.

I’ve got 519 individual vehicles in my garage so you’ve still got a few vehicles to collect :stuck_out_tongue:

The 2004 Impreza & the 2018 Cayenne are in the game already (along with the 1964 Austin FX4 Taxi if that’s the taxi you meant) and can be won from Wheelspins or bought from the Auction House if you happen to spot one there. The KTM X-BOW GT4 isn’t available in the game yet but it’ll be available on Week 12 in the Forzathon Shop

On another note, could you tell me what you mean by “all duplicates with exception of my Pre-Order McLaren 670 are in the auction house”? Is there some specific way to add vehicles to the Auction House and not have other people be able to buy them? I’ve got about 30 duplicates (that I’m not interested in getting rid of as the Auction House prices for them are through the roof and some of them are unobtainable outside of Wheelspins and/or lucky hunting in the AH) which brings my total number of vehicles to 549, and as it looks like our earliest chance (which I truly hope is the case) of getting these increased limits won’t happen until Fortune Island is released on the 13th of December, I wouldn’t mind having some extra room in my garage until these increased limits are released if there’s a way

after looking… I realized I forgot to mention the the $10 mil and a handful of $2+ cars :slight_smile:

Aside from ~18 $2 mil to $10 mill cars, the CRX Mugen and Ford Capri FE, I have the rest… now at 514 cars (including 1 pre-order McLaren). 6 rare (quality) cars left in auction.

I now delete ALL common quality cars, including duplicate Taxis and Limos, I just don’t feel like being bothered with auction any longer… can’t even farm 911s or Fairlady Zs if I wanted to :frowning:

Really wish the limit was fixed by 12/13/18 for Fortune Island… but if it’s lumped in with the McLaren Spyder fix on 1/15/19 and possibly the painted calipers, I’m good (will save wheel spins for level ups after races)

Hey JONK1969, are there any updates on if these increased limits will be included with the Fortune Island expansion coming next week?

In the last Live Stream, Playground themselves said the update will be arriving “Some Time in the new Year” (So Q1 2019) as it needs to be perfect , as it changes the way the Game Saves and how the Server Database Operates, the Slightest Mistake could result in Peoples Saves getting Corrupted.

No One wants that, so Playground want to make sure the Patch is 100% perfect by testing the heck out of it, so it will be Near Year at the Earliest for the Cap increases it Seems.

Well damn. Looks like I won’t be getting any of the upcoming Car Pass or Fortune Island vehicles any time soon then :confused: But, I’m glad that they are taking their time with it to make sure it’s working properly instead of releasing something that may break things or cause some other issues for the players

However, I do also agree with what V12 SprungBoss said above. The devs themselves have known for a long time how many vehicles this game will have at launch and how many it’ll get with Car Pass, expansions and possible other additions to the game in the months after the games launch but yet they somehow left these limits as they are. It’s a shame that it is like that, but at least we know for sure that they’ll be increased at some point in the future, whether it’s later this year or some time next year

How many cars we have currently on game? somethink like 530? I wonder why they couldnt make bigger garage in that two years of time that they have make to game when two months after releasing you are in that spot that all cars dont fit on garage anymore, i dont even car pass and i have over 520 cars so if i would have car pass and if i would buy dlc i would need to remove some cars and that sound really stupid when game released in two months ago.

To be Honest, seeing as the Back Work on the Server Database was already done, and had been done for Forza Motorsports 7, it is Completely Beyond Me why FH4 was launched with the Same Caps as FH3, despite the fact FH3 comes Dangerously Close to its Maximum Cap when you have the full Car Collection. I don’t know why they launched the Game with such low caps. I can only assume there just wasn’t time to incorporate the increased Cap Capacity into the Core Code before the Game Launched. Yes, maybe they should have delayed it had that been the case…but…then it would have launched at the Same time as a “Certain Western” Title…and well, that’s a Fight Horizon 4 would not have stood a chance in I am afraid.

Of course, another Possible Reason code be Code Stability, as we know, the Garage Screen Was Very Laggy at launch , and had a bit of a Problem with loading the wrong Thumbnails on the Cars, so maybe having the Increased caps made the Garage Screen go completely Screwy?

+Carrythxd. I am currently sitting at 352 Cars, so I do have some Headroom for the Fortune Island Vehicles. Thank Goodness. I have not yet added all the Car Pass Vehicles yet, as basically, I don’t want half of them. I can see why a Lot of people are very Angry at the Car Pass Content this Time, I really Can!

Indeed, I would also rather that the Patch Came late but worked Perfectly, than have it come out on Schedule and cause some People to Suffer the nightmare of a Corrupted Save. I do not want to be on these Forums if that Happens, as, having lost 2 to 3 Months of Progress, I imagine the Resulting Explosion from the affected Customers will be very Large indeed! So I am glad Playground are making sure the patch will be 100% Perfect before they launch it.

As I Said to V12sprungboss, I don’t know Why they kept the Caps at the Same level as Horizon 3, despite knowing Horizon 4 was going to have a Bigger car collection, I can only make a guess at a couple of Theories :frowning:

Thanos. I understand your Bitterness, too many Games now are launching while they are packed with bugs and glitches, and how Patches seem to add as many Bugs as they remove, but, in the main run, most of them are just Minor Annoyances, maybe a slightly laggy menu or an incorrect sound effect or, at the very worst, you get a hard crash once in a blue moon, oh sure, they are massively annoying, but, at the end of the day, they are just an annoyance that can be worked around and will result in nothing worse than a bit of Gricing and Moaning on these here Forums.

However, as Said, the patch to the Garage Cap changes the Games Database Functionality, one Mistake could potentially cause Save Files to Corrupt, causing Players to lose 2-3 Months of Progress, something that would result in an absolute Firestorm from the Community that could have very Dramatic consequences indeed.

This time, it is Vital that the Patch is 100% Perfect, its why Playground has been working on it since Day 1, as the consequences of launching a Patch that will Break Peoples Saves are Unthinkable! so they really do want to make sure this one is Perfect so that doesn’t Happen!

Why oh Why Playground Games do you have to keep that pesky 550 car garage cap?! Currently before Fortune Island there are 531 unique models so having this 550 car cap like Horizon 3 we can only have each car once without having a duplicate car. I am already at over 430 cars and knowing that I am getting closer to that 550 car cap it makes me wonder what I should really do with the 25 million I have in game since I already own all the properties… Also how come you just kept that low cap of 550 from FH3 when FM7 you can have 900? I don’t want to hear the, “well we had to cap it at that for game performance and stability” excuse when Gran Turismo 5 & 6 had over 1,000 cars with a 2,000 car garage cap.

That’s just how I feel about the car cap in FH4. Can’t you just increase it to 900 like FM7 and all be fine? I just hate knowing that once I hit 550 cars I can’t have anymore considering I have Ultimate Edition and between DLC cars and the 531 models we currently have in game I won’t actually be able to own all the cars at the same time.

If you would spent same time looking previous topics you would find that they are upgrading garage space when they have tested that updata enough so that dont break anyones saves.

I am glad that this is still progressing, but I hope it happens sooner rather than later. I have hit my garage cap of 550 cars twice now, thanks to wheelspins. I try to sell off as many duplicate cars as possible in the auction house, so that way I get at least something for them, but as you might expect, not all of them sell, and we have that annoying auction house limit to deal with. On average, I manage to sell maybe 3 out of every 10 cars that I try to auction, and yes, I list them at the minimum amounts. I have also had to literally throw away easily 300k worth of cars so far, and the longer the cap increase takes to go into effect, the more credits I’ll be wasting.

We need a 600 garage limit. After owning all the cars and a few multiples I use in different seasons, i’m at 545. Which doesnt give much room for wheelspins. I have to be sure to delete or sell cars to keep the wheelspins from locking me out

600 more garage space? I hope when we get garage size update that limit is more than 600 because after all dlc cars and car pass plus forzathon shop stuff even 600 dont allow many dupdilicates.

Totally agree. Totally minimum is 700. At this moment I have 547 and dont have any DLC car (lol) - some cars is doubled because theirs special kits. Yay!

P.S. 13.12 or middle of January - nevermind. Have hope that garage capacity will raised MAX on Jan.

Not only do we need an increase in the Garage Max. but in the paint jobs and tunings as well!
