While it is true that Rivals events are integrated into Horizon 4 and 5’s Playlists, and even more so in the late Forza Motorsport, I personally see a lot more use in these time attack races purely for increasing event variety in the career mode.
Rated time attack challenges have existed in racing games for decades at this point, even arcade games feature those - complete a lap or a sprint and you get stars based on your time. It is a fairly simple concept, yet the last time I recall seeing Forza include this form of singleplayer time attack challenges was in… Motorsport 2, and even then they were a separate mode from actual Rivals events and the singleplayer career as a whole. So now, with Time Attack races being relatively popular in Japan, I think it would be great to include those as part of Festival curated events that you need to complete in order to progress with your wristbands.
Simply port over some specific Rivals class and track combinations, maybe even curated car themes from FM2023, and make them part of the official Festival event roster. As they would be mandatory in a way, more people would play these Time Attack events, further increasing the popularity of other leaderboard-based Rivals events.
Would love to see that. I can remember the bucket list challenges in FH2 and FH3 were so much fun to beat. We definitely need some beat-the-time kinda racing challenges to return in FH6, especially with leaderboards and star rating.
