Importing vinyl groups

Hello to all Forza racers !

I’m a big Forza fan but feel a bit let down of late.
First ever saw a demo of F4 and was completely hooked, got a variety of wheels to compliment F4 (couldn’t use the controller to drive), eventually getting a Fanatec CSR wheel and pedals at £800 . So far so good, two years and a huge input I felt I’d made good progress not only the driving, very rewarding compiling a substantial library of vinyls to use in designs.

Unfortunately I had to take a year out and only came back at the end of F5 so got the Xbox one and waited for Septembers release of F6
Major setback 1 is the Fanatec/360 is not compatable with the One, so out with the old Fanatec/360, it’ll go on eBay.
Now got a Thrustmaster TX Leather edition, may not be up to the Fanatec quality but half the price ( I’d welcome any feedback on settings etc. Found some on utube)

Major setback 2 is the painting, the Xbox one is not currently backward compatable with F4 so all my vinyls are lost or are they?
Been doing some research and it seems maybe possible to transfer my vinyls from F4 to Horizan 2 then from F6 import from Horizan 2

It’s a real downer doing all the work amassing hundreds of vinyl groups but hopefully there’s a way ???
Come on Turn10 give us a boost and give us our paints, I can’t be on my own losing paint in F4
Many many thanks to anyone who can help

Regarding your wheel, take a look at this information (and the discussion which follows): http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst41479_Steering-Wheels-and-You---A-Hopefully-Helpful-Guide.aspx

On painting: You’re asking for a cross-platform importing, and that cannot happen. They’re based on two different consoles (Xbox 360 and Xbox One) and the processes, while they may seem to be the same, are not and are totally different architectures. It is not possible, but if you’re an artist, you can easily recreate what you had before in FM6.

Thanks for the quick response, I had seen the wheel link and found it useful, an eye opener on how complex it is to transmit physical inputs into a virtual car.
Any helpful tips on the TX leather edition or the F1 add on wheel would be much appreciated.
There’s probably a dedicated wheel section I’ll need to dive into and swap info

On the paint, a bit more research shows there were two versions of Horizan 2 - xbox360 and one therefore as you say cross platform though it still is annoying as I’d worked hard for a week on some vinyls trying to perfect them.
Haven’t found the time to start painting again yet, having too much fun trackside

Regards

Cross platform: Xbox 360 (more than 10 years old) and the new Xbox One. That’s the difference, beside all the stuff underneath which is written to different requirements.

Forza Motorsport 4, as well as Forza Horizon (original and #2) were created for Xbox 360. The Horizon 2 version was separately written for the Xbox One platform, as was FM6.
