I propose a 2nd Forzathon type called Forzathon Motorsport

Have two Forzathons pop. One called Horizon Forzathon and the other Motorsport Forzathon. Horizon Forzathon would have all the usual events. The Motorsport variant would contain 3-5 LONG point to point races with breaks in between so people could change cars or tunes. Every racer for themselves. One winner. Podium at the finish for first, second, third. That’s it. How simple this all is guys. Please devs. Bring the competitiveness back to this game. This can’t be THAT hard to envision can it? This is a RACING game after all right?

Also, standard adventure. No teams. Every racer for themselves. So simple. Just add it please!

Just to verify…

In your Forzathon Motorsport scenario, I can bash, grief, wall ride, and corner cut to be the “One Winner”?

Ghosts would work

So then I don’t have to worry about strategically passing other players, I can just drive right through them. And, I can still ride the walls and corner cut; basically, I just need the fastest car and need to memorize the tracks and I should be good!

I’m in!

I mean I get what you’re saying. It’s kinda like your damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I think the Forzathon stuff should be ghosted. Random routes every time with checkpoints. Play how you want to play exploits and all.

This is a tough one. On one hand you have honest, valid drivers who want a competitive race against other honest, valid drivers. On the other hand, we have a large group players (not drivers) who are more than happy driving as fast as they can, out of control, with no regard for other drivers. In the middle, we have new and casual gamers who are trying to learn the game and have a good time.

I don’t see any way possible to please everybody, which in turn means nobody will be pleased. Unfortunately you can’t control who enters these events, or how the drive once the race starts.

I’ve always believed in the philosophy of the FH2 and FH3 multiplayer concept. When I first started playing those games, a cinematic would appear at some point promoting multiplayer. In the cinematic, the announcer described the event and (I’m paraphrasing) “how you can still win by driving clean and skillfully; coming in first doesn’t necessarily mean you will win the championship”.

Yes, I know that no system is perfect, but this system was as close as I ever thought it could get.

So, when we talk about scenarios like “whoever comes in first wins”, it just doesn’t make any sense to me. To me, all this does (as sarcastically portrayed in my previous posts) is promotes poor behavior.

Sounds like you want open world 7. I’d agree with you, but that’ll never be the target audience for horizion. It’s an arcade based game, based around screwing around. “Real, honest, competitve racing” is the other title. Play one, or play both. But don’t try to make them too similar.

I totally agree. I am already seeing too much blurring of the two games.

If I want serious racing, I do the Motorsport games. When I just want to drive around and perhaps demonstrate my “skills” (ie, screwing around) I do the Horizon games. I have completed a good portion of all the Forza titles, except for FMS 1, and I really enjoy the Horizon series the most.

I understand the idea of “screwing around” and I think the Horizon Series offers a lot of that. I can go do donuts in an open field, I can run the freeway and see how many traffic cars I can knock into the rails. If I want to play with others and can do “King” or “Virus” and bash other players around.

But why go into a road race and bash other players, ride the walls, cut corners, or just plain old cheat? Is there some magical joy in other’s misery?

And, BTW, why is everyone saying “Go to Motorsports for that”? Have you played FM7 Multiplayer lately? It is far worse than Horizon.

I totally agree with your point. I do not get any enjoyment out of intentionally bashing others.

My comments were in reference to my seeing many elements of FMS creeping into Horizon and Horizon elements entering into FMS. I really preferred Horizon 1 where the emphasis was on skills and there was not much racing.

I totally agree that online in all Forza games is terrible in terms of being a crash fest.

I really lucked out in the leagues from FMS 6, was it. I was in grass roots, and most of the players/racers were considerate to a fault. In fact, if we did cause an accident (and believe me, we were in grass roots for a reason, lol), we would often stop and wait for the player that got wrecked to regain his/her position on the track. I gotta say, I don’t see that at all anymore. I only do leagues in FMS 7 for the rewards (cars/suits), so I just run the race. trying to avoid everyone, usually finishing near the rear of the pack. I save my serious racing for non multiplayer.

You guys do realize this is a RACING game right? I don’t want to hear it about people wanting to “screw around”. No. That’s [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]. People want to RACE each other [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]. I don’t care what people do, I just want to race them at every opportunity not jump around sand dunes for 3 minuets which gives ZERO satisfaction.

You emphasized the wrong word there. It’s a racing GAME. And it sounds very much like people are racing like gamers.

I don’t see why people can’t have a choice which is why my suggestion offers two choices. Most people, including these devs apparently, don’t care about that and only wish to force people to go one way or the highway. Sorry but your response is outrageous when they could/should add some more stuff for actual fans of competitive racing.

“One way or the highway”? You mean like ‘I don’t want to hear it about people wanting to mess around - that’s nonsense’? My response was, at most, as outrageous as the statement it was rebutting.

They can make the options for people who want to actually race. Keep trying to be smart pal.

Sorry, but this is an awful idea for a Forzathon Live. I get the feeling you just want a more racing-focused, rush-less, team-less Adventure mode. Which has been wishlisted since day one.

Whatever gives us more racing.

Forzathon Lives are so boring. They lost their appeal after the 4th or 5th time. It’s just mindlessly doing speed trap etc over and over with virtually no driver interaction exept a few spammed nonsensical messages,

I thought it was a painting game, I’ve so been playing this wrong all this time.
