I just played forza 5 online for the first time today. Sorry had game from launch but never got around to it. So played about 15 races it was fun up to the 8th one. There will always be that one dive bomber in the first corner we all know him. But in the lobby I was in he wasn’t the problem. It was this wso racing clan at first it was 1 then 2 then 3. I have nothing against clans I think they are somewhat cool unless your crazy cod guys then well yah. So the wso clan guys were in private chat and the other 6-9 of us were all talking about it just isn’t fun over and over and over the same people winning. It really isn’t. And before you say something go and race 15 matches and let the same guy win, you’ll sing a different tune. So out of the 6-8 people 3 of them said it’s because of them they hit and ram, he said whats the point of trying when its the same over and over ? ? ? ?
I don’t know he has a point, what is the point . I’m not going to buy a 500 dollar wheel to be ultimate badass. And my lap times was 4-5 place when I wasn’t getting hit. I was 2 seconds off the clan guy so what is the point. So id like to propose for the next forza 6. How about you get put in matches to your average time, so clan guys can race ubber fast other clan guys and the norms, the most paying base of the game can have fun lobby’s.
Or on a side note the clan guys could just race private race so that angry little 12 year old screeching kid wont be wanting to ram. MIght solve the ramming a little and less rant post about ramming. Just my 2 cents
I will be playing more online but will be leaving after the 3rd same winning guy in a row. so hope to see you guys out there.
…Or you could just play more and get better so you dont have to ram to win. Dont like a lobby leave and find a new one, but dont think that losing to those that are better than you gives you an excuse to start ramming on purpose
I understand that you werent actually ramming it was other peoples reasoning for doing so. I was commenting on the lame excuse which is just that, lame
Why does everyone think the quick drivers use wheels?
And why is it that the quick drivers are not allowed to just play the game. If the quick drivers jump in slow cars they are still generally quick.
So what should they do, pull over and let people pass? Will that make it better for the other racers.
Edit: most of the quick drivers are happy to help with driving and tuning tips. Just ask for help to get quicker. Ramming is not the answer nor is it justified.
I never use the wheel, it’s a much slower reaction time to turn. It takes a lot longer to turn a wheel then using the controller, basically the wheel is to slow compared to the controller.
Then the wheel isn’t set up correctly. There are several people who are as quick with a wheel as they are with a controller, and I’ve seen them switch between devices in races, too.
If wheels are slower, why are they used in real life instead of a controller?
A controller has an easier reaction time. For one it is much faster to flick your thumb than it is to move your arms. It is much faster to pull a trigger for gas or brake with your finger than it is to move your foot. His wheel isn’t set up wrong at all.
I certainly wish I had my wheel for consistencies sake but in terms of braking and turning in nailing it on a controller is much faster and requires less effort.
Have you ever run a wheel with 270 DOR? It doesn’t take much to turn the car with a setup like that.
You can believe what you want but the fact is that one player’s speed is determined by their preferences and their own personal skill. Any one input device cannot be categorically defined to be faster or slower than another.
It’s too bad that we don’t have the old forums available so we could link back to the multiple discussions that have already been had on this subject.
I’ve ran #1’s in Forza on both devices and this is my first game on a controller. I ran 270 on every wheel I had because I started on the MS wheel with Forza. I’ve had a CSR Elite, CSR, and 911 from Fanatec. I’ve used the Thrustmaster on this game. While I much prefer a wheel some things are easier on a controller like mentioned above and some things like sweepers are easier on a wheel.
The controller is faster for turning in and requires less effort. You cannot argue that at all, there is less movement in your thumb (which is also assisted in game) than there is in rotating your arms. It is also much easier to squeeze a trigger than to push a pedal.
Oh, come now, Snowowl… There you go ruining a good reason with logic. I don’t use a wheel because I have nowhere to put one.
As for the intentional rammers, they are immature. Period. Any excuse for that kind of behavior is lame. I will lose to many a patient driver that is at my skill level or higher. I’m faster in Rivals than MP because I get nervous with other players on the track. Of course the other problem I have is I race the cars I like, and those cars may not always be the fastest for the track.
Wheel isn’t always faster just depends on what the person is used to. I use a gamepad and I’ve set a few top 500 times and a decent amount of top 1000 times. Being quick comes down to practice, skill, car build and tune. You must remember many people have been playing Forza for years.
Still a piss poor excuse for ramming. Cant think of a decent one outside a demolition derby.
Was in a lobby the other night with a guy who was that far in front that he wasn’t even visible on the mini map at Bathurst. No-one rammed him, we used him as a target. He was explaining his tunes and choice of lines to us all and was helping lift the competition up to his level simply because we asked. A lot of us beat our best times that night. Majority of these quick people want the competition to increase their own skills.
I don’t have a wheel and have a few top 1000 times, simply by learning from those quicker than me, fiddling with tuning, and accepting that I am not the best at everything I do.
No matter how good you are, there will always be someone better, welcome to the real world my friend
The other day I was Racing with a Clan of 4, they was taking turns of who will Race to win the others 3 was in Trucks, Vans or SUV, by the race # 3 I have to give up my races of so much Ramming from those guys.
And the thing is always will be like that from the beginning of Forza is like that and will be like that NO one is changing ANYTHING, I block those guys and my races are better, I really don’t care if I finish dead last but let me finish in peace, you don’t need to crash me for one spot in the finish line, or just because you are bore.
This post bothers me. I try to race in collision lobbies and theres always some poor sport doing this crap. Lately theres been top Clans doing it. They will have one member troll fast drivers, while the other member pull away. Its forced me to race in sterile non-collision lobbys.
I told the people they should just find a different lobby. I had to leave it just got boring sorry. I have times from 500 to 200000s , I look at it as the time is the thing. I could have been 3 -5 with out getting hit its just once you get nudged its over most of the time you cant catch up. what bothers me is some of you seen and realize its just not me. id love to just race time or an ai that can sense a rammer if you know what I mean.
but I still stand by what I said id rather rooms made by average lap time. some days I do a 1:18 lap and others I do 1:25. id just like to get on and have 12 people that could place 1st instead of the same 1 2 or 3 clan guys over and over. and id like to see more lobbys as stock cars no nothing it would even it out I think
