I downloaded the VIP pass and the cars from the dlc car packs (like the Ferrari 458 Special from the Top Gear pack) are still asking that I spend credits to purchase the cars. I contacted two people from Xbox, #1 told me there would be an update in the next few hours (which didn’t happen) and #2 told me that there was nothing they could do. I’m hoping someone can help me here and I can solve this problem without having to just delete my save file, uninstall and reinstall everything, and start all over again.
VIP only gives the 5 free cars in the VIP car pack, you don’t get free cars in the other car packs. Sounds like you wanted the “Car Pass” which is different from the VIP pass.
The VIP membership only gives you access to the following vehicles: 2012 Lamborghini Urus, 2014 Tesla Model S, 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, 1949 Mercury Coupe, and the 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO. The VIP membership does not include any other car packs. For those, you’ll need to purchase the monthly packs separately or acquire the Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass.
I have the Ultimate Edition that comes with the Car Pass so I should have a lot more free cars.
That’s information that would be helpful, especially since VIP is unrelated to monthly DLC. For troubleshooting, attempt a complete Xbox One power cycle (do not simply turn the console off/on) and see if this makes the vehicles in the Autoshow available for the one-time free purchase.
Any DLC that you purchase gives you those DLC cars for 0 CR in the autoshow one time and one time only (per console). Afterwards you must use in-game credits to purchase the vehicle.
I think we’ve seen more than a few players report that the DLC isn’t providing the free car for the first purchase. This actually happened to me for the Mazda pack but after I spent credits to buy one of each model, they then appeared as Free in the Buy Cars menu.
PY, are there any other profiles on the console? If so, if you load the game from those profiles, are they showing free or credit cost?
It is recommended to do a complete power cycle of the console after installing the DLC. this may prevent the issues you are facing OP.
As ManteoMax said, load up any other profiles and see if it is free for them. It also wouldn’t hurt to ask the owner of those profiles if they received the car for free because that free car is only a one time thing and once it’s used you have to pay in-game credits.
