The solution to those (including myself!) who are THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED with FORZA’s next gen debacles, is make FM4 backward compatible! ALL tracks and cars in an Ultimate Collection? RE-NEGOTIATE the licenses and watch the downloads go through the roof! Once you have the game alive again, you can ADD MORE DLC as and when you desire! FM5 & 6 have proven to be CLUNKY, UNDER “POLICED”, and totally alienating the Forza Faithful! Forza 6 has become a SURVIVAL EXERCISE rather than a pure RACING EXPERIENCE. This is UNACCEPTABLE! …I love driving. I love the Forza Motorsport games, but I am seriously considering selling ALL my game stuff, as the experience, online, is becoming SERIOUSLY DEPRESSING! I have another post, asking WHAT THE HELL has a LIMO got to do with Motorsport? The same with ALL the SUV’s and Trucks. Also, why all the FANTASY vehicles? “Cars from the Movies”? One off machines cannot, by definition race against each other! And WHY alienate THE REST OF THE WORLD with this “Americo-centric” obsession with American cars and Motorsport? …It represents a FRACTION of the industry and, without trying to be defamatory in any way, the “Strange Uncle, nobody mentions or takes seriously”. The American motor industry produces entertaining, quirky and uniquely “American” machines to a market that desires luxury over PERFORMANCE. BIG machines to cover BIG distances, with BIG passengers!
I only wish I could have a phone/skype consultation with the design team! They SERIOUSLY need a reality check!
Yeah; those darn american-centric V8SCs. How dare those American BTCC cars be here? Why do we even have those strange american GTLM/LMP/etc. group cars?
Additionally; how much experience do you have with licensing vehicles and whatnot? I highly doubt it’s as easy as most seem to think it is.
Other than the HW Mustang, Rocket, and Bone Shaker, what fantasy vehicles? Forza has one of the smallest fantasy rosters of any non-puresim racing game. (And two of those three do technically exist).
Large car racing with clean groups is insanely fun, and I’d recommend it to any moderately skilled group.
You’ll never completely eradicate trolls; and many of those “trolls” are highly inexperienced drivers who may need a hand learning the ropes. Reach out to the newbies, you may be surprised.
You know what’s depressing…These types of threads that’s what. T-10 does not read these! Post in the pinned threads. Maybe your complaint will get read. Shouldn’t these be under Game issues or something…
Okay! …I expected a more CONSTRUCTIVE tone to replies. Maybe this place doesn’t have the WILL to change anything, but if you can’t find anything to say that FURTHERS THE CONVERSATION, I suggest keeping quiet. NEGATIVITY should inspire INNOVATION, such as the OP suggestion. The constant demeaning of CONTRIBUTORS, is why T10/MS are struggling to keep their FANS happy.
This is a discussion forum and there should not be a censoring of opinions. Just like OP is allowed to start a thread like this, the responders are allowed to post dissenting opinions. The unfortunate state of Forza has caused a rift among the fans. There are fans who are perfectly ok with what is going on and are fed up with all of the threads complaining about x or y. Then there are the fans who are complaining about x or y and are fed up with other fans telling them that their threads are annoying.
This poses a few questions to think about. How many of the complaints are actually read and taken into consideration? How many fall upon deaf ears (eyes in this case)?
Because FM4 Pub Lobbies were such an idyllic place…
Also, why there are some cars that may not fit in a game which has “Motorsport” in the title, there’s also plenty of fine racing machinery to be enjoyed, from vintage F1s to BTCC cars. Forza Motorsport 4’s carlist was much of a “quantity over quality” affair. The same can’t be said over FM6’s current carlist, imho.
Construtivism begets constructivism. Salt begets salt (by way of sarcasm). Just BECAUSE someone points out that things may not be as bad as the bandwagon says; does not mean it’s an INVALID point. Also, as a T10 FAN/CONSUMER, I know I’ve gotten MORE than my MONEY’s worth out of the game.
I agree with you op. As it is now i mostly see the game as a “car enthusiast” type of game rather than a “racing” game. The percentage of racing cars compared to the “other” cars is quite small. Also why is there so many cars of the same model but with different years? Also, i’m no means of an expert in this area, but why put so much effort into these car graphics with all these laser stuff when really all competing racing/car games really look the same? it’s such a waste of resources IMO…
You know, now that you mention it. I thought I knew you, and not in a good way. I think I raced with you once…and blocked you. And FYI you are complaining about things that are in other threads.
As much as I liked FM4 to be backwards compatible, I just think that threads like these won’t accelerate that…if it’s planned anyway. I really think that MS does not want reoccuring series to be backwards compatible. My hopes are low…
And even if…there would not much people playing it, so you can have great times with friends but other than that it will be quite silent
I have mentioned this in passing within other ANCIENT posts, long forgotten, but I agree with Eric, with regard to the graphics “In game”. When actually racing, it is the racing line that matters at all times! As long as the road surface and physics are accurate, the driving view should be limited to the car and circuit. Having superfluous helicopters, confetti cannons, fireworks, as distractions should be reserved for the Horizon franchise where entertainment might be more important. The wet weather was a great idea, but, no race-director/organiser would EVER sanction a race with so much standing water on the racing line! …EVER! Competitors have died in that sort of weather! Crashing seems to be a “fashionable past-time” in Forza these days?
In summary, maybe Motorsport and Horizon should be DIVERGING franchises, as opposed to them becoming so similar?
