I don't want white walls on my 67 Vette!

They never came with them and it ruins the look, please Turn 10 fix this.

White walls were an option for the 1967 Corvette, and if you don’t want white walls then upgrade your tires. Problem solved.

Funny, because I’m here wishing for a way for white walls to stay on 50’s cars when I upgrade their tires.

I want raised white letters on tires too!! Either as an option or just on upgraded tires either way white letters on most cars make them look cool and faster!!! Sorry I may have moved this to a “wish list”.

I would like to see redlines on vintage sixties muscle cars. Also, I believe '67 Vettes came with gold line tires.
The problem with the tires on the game Vette is the whitewalls are too wide. They should be a thin line.

They did come with a dealers whitewall option.

And these were actually fitted to the tyres and held in place by the rims.

The tyres themselves didn’t actually have white “walls” (not the dealer optional ones that is).

The white wall extra was fitted to the tyre when they deflated the tyres, inserted the cupped white wall, then re beaded the tyre back onto the rims, locking the white wall to the tyre/rims.

Factory white walls were avail as a factory optional extra, and were actual white secmrnts I. The canvas/tyre side wall, and were actually reversible.

Unlike tyres today that have to go on in one direction, older tyres were fully reversible.

Do you could spin the tyres around to show off the White wall, or leave the tyres black ex factory.

Thus was the case in many optional tyre options “back in the day” … Lol

I’ve seen some non-complaints in my time but jeez… lol

They did come with them in certain detail packages, you can remove them by upgrading the tyres, there really isn’t a problem.
Just go enjoy the car, you hardly see the sidewalls when you’re doing 70 round Laguna Seca anyway.

Oops, my post above should have mentioned goldline tires as an option on sixties corvettes. Thanks to XboxOZ360 for post above detailing the installation procedure for whitwall tires on sixties Vettes.
As the seventies cars rolled in, goldline, redline, and blue streak (used on some Mopar’s) gave way to white lettered tires. Whitewall tires remained standard equipment on some cars, optional on others.
I also agree with Mitch, nothing to complain about really as I am one who still prefers vinyl tops, chrome front and rear bumpers, whitewalls and real styling to crappy looking crud coming out now…With a few exceptions, however, I do own an '09 Challenger R/T and she looks good sitting next to my '71 Challenger convertible.

I had a '69 Series 1 XJ6 Jag, running a 327 slightly bored and fitted with ford flattop floaters to give it 332cu.in.

I ran it through a Turbo 400 to the standard Jag diff with the whole thing sitting on Perrelli’s soft compounds with a medium to thin White wall. Using polished composite alloys with gold Sudo wire centres. Of course it sported traditional BRG (Britsh Racing Green) with tinted glass.

To say it looked sweet is an understatement as it sat real low, yet still had the tall profile tyres. The white Walls just set it off perfectly.

On some cars, it looks excellent, yet on some, it just doesn’t work as it should.

Earlier on in my automotive lifestyle I had a very small British Standard 10. It’d take way too long to explain the huge mods we did with it, but it flew. We had Dunlop Racing tyres on the tail, with street Dunlops on the front.

Instead of letter whiting the tyres, we used thinners to clean off the lettering to bring out the true white of the letters. That suited the cars status, white walls wouldn’t have worked in that case.

They look great, but like all things, sometimes less is best…at times.
