Standard controller, steering assist on, career mode, the first Le Mans long straight. I’m in the left lane. When I want to move into the right lane to pass a car, I can’t. If it’s because of the steering assist, that’s an inappropriate time and place for it. Anyone know what I can do about it (other than turning off steering assist), or is it a glitch?
Might be steering assist.
Also note that when the game is loading it looks at the controller for a base line or default if you will. If you are holding the thumbstick all the way to the right, the game will think that is normal. This would result in a neutral thumbstick resulting in the car pulling left and the inability to turn right.
Since that doesn’t seen to be the case it may steering assist. Steering assist basically does its best to keep your car on the best fit line. Have you tried the same scenario you described but without the assist?
No, I haven’t, but why would it be only on Le Mans?
Seems like the simplest way to answer the question is to test the same conditions without steering assist on.
Well, you know, the French are really all socialists, so they don’t allow people to move to the right.
It would be the same as trying turning left on a racetrack in Texas, except the locals would probably be shooting at you.
LMAO! Except in Austin.
ROFL
Pure gold, dude XD
OT: Turn of steering assist.
Using steering assist, brake assist, TCS etc. can help noobs drive better, but eventually become hinderances. They filter and condition the car’s performance, and hold you back. Learn to drive with them off, you’ll get a more accurate depiction of the car AND become a faster driver.
If you’re at the point where you actually WANT the car to do things that the assists don’t want the car to do, you’re probably skilled enough to start turning 'em off.
But it doesn’t make sense that steering assist won’t let me change lanes to pass, and only on one track in only one mode.
When I race at Le Mans in Free Play and Test Drive with Steering Assist on, there’s no problem. In Career Mode, once I get past the first long straight, the problem goes away.
