Just a heads up, when I paint the rims on the HW Mustang the 50 year emblem vanishes. I want to keep the original design on the car and have the rims match the paint scheme, but when I paint the rims it screws up the emblem.
I could submit a ticket, but I’m sure that would get lost in the mail or simething.
Not a bug. Been like this on all cars that have a paint design on them from dealership. You go to change the paint the original design disappears either fully or partial.
Never noticed that before, I usually do a complete paint job but wanted to keep the original paint scheme for the Mustang and just match the rims to it.
Kinda rediculous in my opinion but I’m sure it’s because people abused it in the past to gain fame and fortune in a fantasy world.
I would love to be able to do that, but the vinyl uses custom colors, my guess is the blue is tinted chrome and the rest is brass I believe. So that idea is shot down.
I have made the suggestion to allow those custom colors on vinyls, but I don"t think they are interested in doing much else with the paint shop.
It would take some work, yes. But you can re-create most manufacturer paints with some effort. As for improvements to the paint booth … there have been a couple of updates to add some features to the paint booth in FM7 recently … so all hope is not lost yet. Maybe some improvements are in the works for the FH4 paint booth as well.
You can fake that with chrome paint, holes in the vinyls, and transparent layers, but it takes ages. For example, if you wanted to paint C3PO you could leave gaps for a gold body.
