How to beat an Agera RS (speed trap)

I’ve been trying to beat my friend’s speed on a speed trap since release. He was driving an Agera RS and I do not have the car pass. I’d like to beat his speed with a car offered in the base game. The closest I’ve gotten is still 8 mph less in a lamborghini aventador. I have also tried the senna, the F1 and many other cars that don’t get very close. The thing I think is holding me back is the lack of my cars’ acceleration from 200 MPH+. Is there anything you guys can recommend me? Are there any cars that can approach the agera rs in terms of top end acceleration? Cars or tuning tips or anything really.
The speed trap is the derwent reservoir speed trap if that helps. I’ve taken the corners approaching it in many different ways so I don’t think that’s the issue but if you have any tips for that, i would welcome those as well. Thanks!

Top gear acceleration… Tough one to deal with. Cutting drag if you havent adjusted spoilers down ensuring rwd and upped tire pressure?

Also verify power curve and your rpm shift points. Perhaps need to adjust slightly your top gearing a little more. At the high speeds, even a slight twitch in steering can drop that couple mph so adjusting the game setting for steering at high speed can smooth out that curve into the trap. If high RPM power drops off at all, might need that last gear lower ratio to get that last shift into power curve.

But I dont have enough hypercars to know which is overall fastest. Those are only tips I know for getting a higher trap speed. Agera is a speed beast, but easily unstablized so smooth turns ins is where you will have a lot of strength. My friend uses a 918 and I barely beat him on the highway. Try that one.

There is a Lamborghini adventador that you can do up to beat the speed trap

Try a Mosler MT900S, they’re widely available on the auction house these days. Those can consistently beat the Agera RS.
Otherwise, the Mc Laren F1 GT (not the normal F1) is probably the next best thing.

Would also be my bet, the Mosler being the easiest to control, but the F1 GT has tiny bit better mid-range and top-range acceleration imo.
The Aventador 750 is also fast, but very rare, and slower than the 2 others.

Mosler / F1GT beat the cr*p out of the Agera, especially in corners.
