Hot take, but I think its actually more difficult to gain credits legitimately this time around

I have already completed every race and every story, but I am still miles away from purchasing most of the cars above the 100,000 credit price range. At first, I was confused, but then it hit me, You really don’t have an opportunity to get as much credits without being a creator, a flipper, or an exploiter.

First of all, you only have one progress bar, meaning you gain access to wheelspins a lot less. This is only exasperated more by the fact that the more you level up, the longer it takes to get to the next level, especially after you have gotten your first prestige.

Also, since its early days still, your wheelspins can be all for not, as they are still highly cluttered with clothes, horns, and phrases, lowering the chances of any sort of credit payouts and rare cars.

Then there’s the big lack of daily payouts. Businesses don’t exist, credits collected by your Drivatar in other people’s races have been present since Horizon 3, and the only available daily payout is stuck behind a 5 million credit paywall.

Finally, the big elephant in the room is, of course, the VIP bonuses, which, at the moment, do not work at all, meaning I have played the entire game to the base endgame without a privilege I actually paid for with real money.

The only way to really make any proper ground at this point in the game is too become a creator (which is easier said then done as you are constantly competing against celebrity content creators), become a flipper (which can be counterintuitive to finishing the car collection unless you have many expensive and rare duplicates), or become an exploiter (which is not a low I want to stoop to).

Before naysayers angrily type their rebuttals, I do want to acknowledge that I was one of those people who wanted the free prizes to be toned down. However, since the progression as an experience is still piss poor, this new grind is not any fun at all. In fact, I’d argue its almost worse.

In the end, what this franchise needs going forward is a proper balance to, well, pretty much everything. You can still make the game a sandbox, but maybe put a little more effort in a more linear experience for those who want it. You don’t need to always shower us in rewards, but don’t make it grindy as heck either.

Eh, I guess I make money from some tunes but I’ve bought all the houses and a handful of 2 million dollar cars and I’ve still got 10M credits left.

I will say, the removal of forza rewards was kind of a kick in the nads but… you get cars so easily in this game. I’ve got like 300 cars and I think I only bought two dozen of them. I spend a ton of money on upgrades tho.

the racing CR reward is very very low!

the auction house is where the FH4 and FH5 game is … for making money.

I feel like you might have been phenomenally unlucky :frowning:

I’m not certain VIP is working for me or not, but it probably is as I’ve had single-digit millions since finishing I think all the road races and a majority of the PR stunts and xp boards. That was probably within a week of starting the game, now the recent stats tell me my winnings have been 25mil and I have about 8 available. I felt like it was raining wheelspins that first week, as I was completing races (and accolades before I even knew what they were).

Not gloating, but wondering if that’s the VIP effect at play.
Maybe (hopefully) there is some kind of compensation planned for the ‘fix’ for people who aren’t getting the VIP bonuses.

I know I gave myself the best possible outcomes: I raced all at the highest level I could comfortably win at, restarted every race if I wasn’t getting 1st, obsessively did the PR stunts to 3 stars, drove every road, collected every bonus board, purchased the ‘free’ VIP houses asap and the other houses as soon as budget allowed, purchased all the cheaper clothing items (under 10k then under 20k) to give the wheel a better chance of throwing a more valuable reward. I think being OCD about collections and core achievements/unlocks definitely helps though.

In general, I’ve always found the races in these games a tad unrewarding. Even with the loyalty payouts we got in previous games I felt underfunded.

I’m not finding that at all. Wheelspins are less frequent (especially super-wheelspins) but they are generally more rewarding. Racing earnings are about the same, though the game itself is harder which may force people to lower difficulty levels and therefore lower rewards.

Still, I’m getting free cars faster than I can test and tune builds. I’m so far behind on my “to build” list and it just keeps getting larger. I’m making credits far faster than I can spend it. It’s already become mostly meaningless to me. I think I’m at 26 million now. Outside of the most expensive cars in the game, the idea of purchasing a car brings little worry to my mind.

Now I’m very lucky and have a lot of free time to play the game, so I realize that this probably isn’t true of most people. My point isn’t that most people should be at that point now, my point is that most people will eventually reach that point as long as they keep playing. Credits are vital in the early game, but all it takes is a few lucky wheelspins to make them somewhat meaningless. Sure If I wanted to buy every car in the autoshow I couldn’t, but outside of cars like the Shelby Daytona or some of the old Ferraris, I can pretty much buy any car I want at a moment’s notice without breaking a sweat. Bought three cars for the daily today out of the autoshow, and they were the Pista (in preparation for the weekly tomorrow), the Hoonigan RS200, and a Porsche Cayman GT4. Didn’t even notice my money go down. You’ll get there eventually.

If you’re looking to make a quick buck though, selling the cars you don’t want in the auction house is a good option right now. There are some stock, untouched cars that are going for above their price in the autoshow. People are pants on head right now, but I see no reason why you shouldn’t take advantage of that. It’s VERY much a sellers market at the moment.

As an ordinary player who is none of these things I’ve been worrying about the lack of income options too.

Re wheelspins, they’ve dropped the infamous 5,000 credits, that’s all. The lowest I’ve seen is 20,000. But you’ve got to get the wheelspins first, which is harder as the game goes on.

I haven’t had any problem not getting enough credits, I’ve spent freely without worrying about running out of money and I’m not VIP either. Make sure you’re using skill points to get easy cash or wheelspins on the cars the game regularly gives you as well. (Or XP to level up quicker, which will give more wheelspins.)

No other way than Auction House to make money. For example, snipe Ferrari Laferrari for under 3 million CR and list them for 20 million. Don’t get GREEDY and list the car for minimum and maximum 20 million. That is dumb and guaranteed to leave your car unsold. Minimum price should be lowest possible to be set and max price should be 20 million. They go for 10-13 million when you make people bid on your car. Same strategy can be applied on Honda Civic GRC and Honda Civic 84 Mugen.

And reason for that? U get the car free from collection. And the stuff is thrown at you. I’m at the point where my money/fp is already useless.
Was down to 200k and did nothing special since then… driving highway up/down to test some tunes and i’m back to 3mil. And it’s not my published design this gives 200cr per week :smiley:

Do some race buy the cheap cars first (sort by price in autoshow) for collection and use the skillpoints in masterytrees and so on it gives xp and next wheelspin. Get the cars from accolades and sell the dupes from wheelspins (not in auctionhouse in the dialog it gives more money [except the sesto])
Don’t waste on clothing it was >4mil to buy this stuff

I like how I specifically mentioned that it is hard to get credits unless you are a creator. So who responds saying they have no issues with the economy? The creators.

To preface this: I am not a creator in any shape or fashion. My sum total is: 2 custom tracks built, zero uses; a handful of longer Horizon races: 1 use; 2 designs, 1 use. zero tunes. I have maybe earned 500 credits from created stuff

I admit that I have a lot of time on my hands so I play the game probably 4-6 hours a day (was nearer 8-10 hours in the early days). I am 1 Star Level 220 odd, have not used AFK at all nor used the Jeep Exploit. I am not sure if credits are harder to come by or not…my stats show that I have earned 74 Million credits and I spent a lot of my time doing Accoldaes which derive little income.

As mentioned above, if you rack up skill points, you can get a lot of wheelspins and/or credits. My process currently is to rack up 50+ skill points, check which cars I have that haven’t been photo’d for Horizon Promo, get in the car, unlock the perks which give credits, spins or FT points, photo it, move on to the next one.

I would say that the best way to get credits is to race in a convoy…the other day I was racing for about 2 hours with a streamer and my credits went up by over 2 Million through race credits and wheelspin credits

I’m a creator? I’ll admit I’ve got some tunes and some custom tracks, but the credits I’ve made of them is a pittance. I’m still under 1000 downloads for tunes (I’ve been pumping them out since day 1) and I’m at a whopping 3 uses for tracks (2 of which are friends). You could take away every single credit I’ve earned from those two sources and I wouldn’t even notice.

After you get all of the clothes you will get bigger rewards. The game will therefore start off slowly as you get hats instead of money.

I don’t have an issue with getting credits and I am not a creator. I have a lot of tunes shared but those have made me less than 100K credits. According to the statistics of the game I’ve made more than 60M, own all houses and almost all cars. And in case you are wondering, no I don’t do any glitchy or any other shady stuff. My normal gaming session is:

  1. get in a new car, tune it, test it in whatever big track it was made for, unlock its wheelspins (plus credits, forzathon points and xp if cheap);
  2. repeat this for as many cars as I feel like it or have skill points to use;
  3. when I had enough of this I either do some other activity (playlist or stunts or stories I haven’t 3 star yet);
  4. when I’m almost done with the game that day I go for a ride on the highway to collect more skill points for the next day;
  5. before closing the game I open the pile of wheelspins I got from the cars and level up.

Getting 2M and a handful of new cars every session is quite common. The problem is not getting credits. It’s very easy to get credits. The problem is if what you like doing gives you credits.

I’d disagree. While you have lost out on business payouts as well as Forza Rewards which obviously varied depending on your level, and maybe less overall wheel spins from leveling up due to just the main XP rather than leveling up Road, Dirt etc as well.

I think that Super & Wheel Spins are more generous in payouts plus once you remove alot of the Horns, clothing etc will be even better. I ended up with a 15m CR Ferrari from a wheel spin, I’ve basically had to buy just a couple of cars everything else has been won in wheel spins.

Most expensive house in the game is 5m CR where as FH4 was 10+M maybe even 15m can’t remember.

Also 2 of the most expensive cars in FH5 can be unlocked via Accolades so don’t even need to be bought.

Super Wheel Spins are in car mastery trees so if you feel like farming some skill points, while the Willys Jeep and Supra have had there Super Wheel Spins removed there’s a few cheap cars which still only require 11 Skill Points to get a Super Wheel Spin if you desire.

Tbh if you play the game normally your going to earn enough credits via races and Wheel Spins, and earn majority of the cars via these methods unless you need to get a car for a particular seasonal event or you fancy the car right away.

Obviously Auction House can make you decent money and being a creator does bring in money and if Tuning and Painting you can get to Legendary Status then things cane open up.

Quite early on I realized that spending some (well a lot - 2M) on wardrobe was worth it, to get it out of S/WS. So now S/WS gave me all the cars they can and nice sum of Cr, so I’m probably set for a while.

Actual Cr rewards from races feel somewhat low, besides its still hard to track them, as they don’t always show after the race. Also already mentioned daily business payout is gone. Regulated auction house is also not really a good place to earn big.

So all in all think game was built around S/WS, to be your main income.

Skill points are easy to exchange and earn, as you get 10 every few minutes drifting Hoonicorn.

i was after more money saving for the 5m house and i ended up testing to see if its faster to get money from racing or rivals.

Rivals gets you more money and i think more the better you go on the boards.

I got one time about 200k+ in 7 laps. (on a small track)
