Horrible rolling start

Some of the rolling starts are kind of messed up but this one was really messed up. I don’t know why there was such a large gap between the 7th and 8th car on the grid but we were also basically stopped.

Good Luck to the red car

The AI really has a lot of trouble with rolling start, even though it should be a simple matter of following rails at a constant speed. It’s happened once or twice that I get control from a dead stop or mid swerving wildly, and gaps are pretty common.

I can almost swear I never had these problems in FM7.

Please report this here:

I think rolling starts in general are just not implemented very well. Before being handed control, my car will often jerk erratically left and right, like the AI can’t figure out where it should be.

And the speeds that the cars travel during the rolling starts are all over the place, even when using the same class of car, but on different tracks. Some starts, before control is handed over to me, my car will be going 40mph…in others, I’ll be going 4mph. It’s ridiculous.

It’s even better when the game leaves your car in 1st gear at just about max revs, then gives you control…only to just about get run over by the rest of the field because they weren’t in 1st gear…

Anyone experiencing this recently?

I’m experiencing some frustrating rolling starts. Before I can even control my car, I’m getting rear-ended and left with a gap. Meanwhile, the car beside me gets rear-ended too, but there’s no gap and they’re able to maintain contact until race starts.

Specifically,I’m having trouble on the oval circuit of Sunset Peninsula. My car decides to light up the back tires and do a 90 degree right turn into the wall at the green flag, but somehow I managed to get turned around and find a 4th place finish. Couldn’t catch the leaders, kept laying black marks all the way around the track. Single tire mark on straightaways and like w zigzag marks on the turns.
This was the fm nascar event btw.
