I have been a driver on Horizon since the first day the original Horizon came out. I love this game, and still play it diligently! =D However as a former beta tester, there are some things that caught my eye and I’ve been making note of them over a period of time. Now that my list has gotten big enough, I’d like share with you a few things that I feel need to be brought to your attention. I know you guys watch this thread diligently for helpful feedback, so I have faith you’ll be able to make use of my feedback. I look forward to being able to help out with development in the future! =)
Sincerely,
-ProDanDrifter
→ Horizon 2 needs better “End of race” camera angles. The original Horizon’s system was much better: a different angle to view the different cars finishing the race, depending on the race. In Horizon 2 however, it seems there is only one end-of-race camera angle, so it becomes VERY boring and predictable to watch. I used to enjoy putting on a show for the different end-of-race cameras by performing different drifts at the different cameras achieving a wide variety of angles but now, it’s just the same old camera angle viewing. (from the right-side of the finishing line.) You guys can do better than that! ^.^
→ Horizon 2 needs the ability to disable the “Players” HUD in an online lobby. It can completely block out the rear-view mirror on left-hand drive cars when in the “in-cabin view”, rendering it useless. VERY ANNOYING if you intend to make any use of it at all in an online race! Lol =P
→ PLEASE Fix the spawning cars! Traffic cars in Horizon 2 have a nasty habit of spawning out of NOWHERE only a few feet in front of you whilst in an online race/roadtrip. EXTREMELY ANNOYING for anyone whom has the misfortune of getting cut off by one. You pretty much have to avoid driving in the middle of the lanes on the road to avoid getting hit. So please; make it so the cars can’t/won’t spawn anywhere within 250 meters of someone!~ =)
→ I think it would be very cool if the odometer actually recorded how many miles I’ve driven in that specific car! That would be very cool!! I see that some cars already have odometers that work, but they don’t remember how many miles you’ve driven! What’s the point of that? Lol
→ I think it would be very cool if you could customize/upgrade the gauges on your cars, like the tachometer for example! One can upgrade the cams on their car in Horizon and increase the maximum RPM of that engine. However, when you’re in a car that has those modification done to it, you’ll notice the tachometer revving beyond what the maximum output for that tachometer is! Case and point: My A-Class Toyota Trueno revs up to 9,000 RPM after modifications. However, the tachometer only revs up to 8,000! That’s kinda lame if you ask me. =P
→ I think it would be cool if you could have different rim styles on different axles. Like; have one style of rims in the front, and a different style in back! Just for creativity’s sake. =D
→ (This one I’m rather proud of =D) From the fact that you can drive anywhere to the new “Storm Island” expansion, Horizon 2 has kinda left-out the average drifter whom prefers a more grippy tarmac environment in favor of the ruff & tuff off-roader…HOWEVER, I thought of a simple solution could fix all of this! Two simple words my friend: Drifting Race!~ A new game mode/expansion made entirely for drifting! In this mode; participants will race in regular checkpoint-based races with specified “Grip/Time Attack Sections” & “Drifting Sections” that they MUST drift though at the cost of a penalty. The winner won’t necessarily be whoever comes in first but rather who has the best finishing time. This will also deter ramming trolls! =D
The key to this kind of race is a combination of speed, consistency, and driving skill! ^.^
Here are the rules/principals behind my idea:
- Entry cars must be RWD only, and fit within the class specifications for tuning. (B/A/S/S1)
- Contestants must drift around the specified “drifting sections”. Failure to drift will result in a time penalty.
- Hard contact is prohibited, but ghost mode will NOT be used as close tandem drifting will be an essential part of this event.
- A one second penalty will be enforced for light contact. A harsher 3-5 second penalty will be enforced for hard contact.
- Repeated hard-contact during a race will result in expulsion from the lobby.
I got the idea for this drifting event by watching Hot Version on Youtube! Turn 10, you guys should check out this video of EXACTLY the kind of event I just described! Then imagine it being in Horizon 2!! Oooohh sends a shiver of excitement down my spine, it dose!! xD
