The 1997 Honda Civic Type R does not have the legendary Vtec kicked in sound when you accelerate. Also, it needs an overhaul of the overall sound as its too much compressed for a B16B I4 engine.
The 1997 Honda Civic Type R in FM 2023 sounds entirely computerized with no sign of VTEC kicked in hence making it artificial and horrifying. It does not sound anything like B16B I4 engine. Therefore, a sound update is compulsory for this car. This is how it sounds in the game
Update: Added few more links and RPM range as well depicting the VTEC engagement(VTEC kicked in) zone
How it sounds in the real life
- RPM Range:
- VTEC engagement: 6,100 RPM
- Redline: 8,400 RPM
- Rev Limit: 9,000 RPM
Therefore, please give a sound update. I hope these helps.
I know your doing a post for a number of cars.
top tip, Don’t include examples of modified exhausts or stuff of that nature, try to stick with a completely stock example. Which thankfully you included an example
Thank you for the heads up. I will be sure to include the stock ones only from now on. I am primarily focusing on car audios only because most of them are inaccurate, compressed and synthesized be it in stock or modified versions of that particular car. Still analyzing a lot more cars in both version and comparing with their real life counterparts and posting about it. I hope we can get the car audio update as soon as possible.
I agree it sucks no vtec sound and no vvtli sound on the celica gts. They need to change this. This game sound quality is worst than FM6.
Yup. Well it can be said for Toyota MR2 as well. For now, Honda Civic needs a compulsory engine audio update. It’s no fun driving the car if I don’t hear the VTEC sound, plus it sounds like a compressed B16B Type R engine.
@JetPartySalad Nope, no complete sound update to this car after 5 months
