Honda Civic Type R ‘04 - Inaccurate Car Model

Another Honda, another Civic Type R that has majorly inaccurate, disproportionate and outdated car model.

Everything from the general size and wheel base to the front and rear end proportions - this Type R has been extremely insufficient like the infamous car models. The misaligned front wheels with one side sticking out further than the other is a dead giveaway of the atrocity.

Requesting to discard, fully rescan and remodel the 2004 Honda Civic Type R.

Ericship 111 pointed out that the model we have for this car is clearly the pre-facelift version with the wrong taillights.

Oh, look, another Motorsport 1 model. Funnily enough, it was less inaccurate in its first appearance because it featured the correct headlights! No idea why this was changed for Motorsport 2 and beyond.

And the pre-tuned Mugen variant of the EP3 retained the correct headlights in every next title it appeared in, so up to Motorsport 4.

I have matching photos between the In-game model and the Real car. It could be switched between.

And here’s the inaccuracies I’ve highlighted:

  • Front bumper grille is too big
  • Headlights and Taillights came from the 2004 facelift
  • Side mirrors look rectangular
  • Type R sticker on side skirt is bigger than the real one
  • Honda badge on the rear hatch has no Red background
  • Exhaust looks smaller
  • Door handles are wrongly shaped
  • Side windows are a bit large
  • Honda and Type R front grille emblems are larger

And the worst part that irritates me - The left wheels are too wide.

This Civic EP3 is in need of a remodel. The model year is wrong because the car model is based on the 2001-2003 pre-facelift. So in that case, it’s either get the proper Pre-facelift version and mark it as 2003, or get the actual 2004 facelift model instead.
