HDR issues

Hello,

I have a Xbox One X + 2018 Q7FN Samsung TV (European model, support HDR10), HDR is working fine in all games with exception with Forza Horizon 4, running the game in performance mode. The Whites are gray, everything looks washed out unless I turn off HDR. TV is calibrated, ingame calibration of HDR makes no difference, feels like something is broken when running this game in HDR.

Is this a known issue? This TV has no issues with other games or other content being presented in HDR and it looks great.

Thanks,
Daniel

I dont know, maybe it will help you: turn off HDR in the console’s video settings. Then turn on HDR in the TV’s settitngs manualy. My TV is Sony XE90 and this trick works fine for me.

Thanks PrivateClaire, unfortunately the controls get locked on the TV once its on we can’t just disable it. I’ll try to mess around but likely might end up having to disable HDR entirely so colors look right

No, you must disable HDR in console’settings, video section. After that MANUALLY enable HDR on your TV via TV’s settings. And then lanch the game.

Check that your TV is in game mode.

Or enable manually HDR mode when there is no signal on xbox output HDMI port. Anyway check the manual to yout TV.

I think I know what you mean, the TV itself has its own HDR processing, it is unfortunately not the same as the native from the console+game but instead it’s samsung’s implementation. In Samsung’s case it’s called HDR+. I’ll give it a try, it’s not a fix however for the HDR issues on the game tho but i’ll have HDR.

Thanks,
Daniel
