I would enjoy having perhaps some vehicle history so I have context about the car I’m buying. There are competitors who have been doing this for a long time, and for good reason. It helps to add a sense of connection to the car, and is of course educational. I feel like if I want to learn about the car I’m driving I have to watch a youtube video or read a wikipedia article about it.
If I remember right, they settled on the pointless stat bars because car manufacturers were throwing fits if their cars weren’t The Best ™. Current stats don’t mean anything, so manufacturers can’t easily compare their cars with competitor cars, which prevents them for exerting pressure on the devs (for example increasing licensing prices or holding cars hostage).
